Poster, Collage Making, Photography and Essay writing competitions for school Children


Cleanliness is an important quality of life. In fact, it is a habit which is often considered just next to Godliness. Cleanliness is a habit not related to the wealth of a person, but it is a habit which depicts the qualities a person enriched with. To make the children aware of such a necessary quality of life, ONGC Foundation in association with ONGC is organising Poster, Collage Making, Photography and Essay writing competitions for school Children during Swachhata Pakhwada 2020.

Category 1:
Poster Design Competition

Participants:

Group A: Class 5th-8th;
Group B: Class 9th-12th
Theme: Zero Garbage School Campus and those words must be on the poster.

It's the little things that can make a big difference, so with little effort on your behalf, you can make a big difference to Environment & participate in Clean India Campaign (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan).

Poster Specifics:
In addition to needing the words “Cleanliness, Starts with Me” - #ItsmyDuty! on the poster, Use #SwachhtaPakhwada #SwachhBharatAbhiyaan in your posters.
You need to submit brief write-up of around 100-150 words.
Format Requirement:
Size of the final poster: 30 cm X 42 cm (A3) only, in portrait/landscape format

Resolution: 300 dpi

File type: High Res JPEG or PDF

Colour Mode: CMYK (in case of digital poster)

Category 2:
Collage Making Competition

Participants:

Participants: Class 9th- 12th
Theme: Zero Garbage School Campus and those words must be on the poster.

Do you see the world around you through a unique eye? Do you think the world around you can be described in a collage? If yes, then here is a competition for you.

Collage is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippings, ribbons, paint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper.

Format Requirement:
Size of the final poster: 30 cm X 42 cm (A3) only, in portrait/landscape format

Resolution: 300 dpi

File type: High Res JPEG or PDF

Type: Mixed Media

Submission Guidelines for Poster/Collage:
Each participant is allowed a maximum of ONE entry. (please don't send same poster/collage repeatedly)
Poster/Collage cannot include copyrighted characters from comics, cartoons, television programs, movies, newspapers, magazines, etc.
Material such as pencil, oil pastel, colour crayons, water colours and mixed media of these can be used.
The Poster/Collage must be attractive in terms of design and neatness of presentation.
The content or idea must be related to the topic and makes it easier to understand the theme.
Entries received will be the subject matter of organisers and best entries will be released on our social media handle.
Please do not send your original drawings directly to the organisers, unless asked for. Online participation only.

Category 3:

Essay Writing Competition
Participants:

Class 9th - 12th
Topics:
Alternative for Single use Plastic
Cleanliness – Our Attitude & Behaviour

Structure of the Essay Competition
The Essay Competition consists of written submission which is delivered to the ONGC Foundation within the given timeline. Only original essays will be considered for the competition. Previously published essays are therefore excluded. Any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the essay. Participants can submit only ONE Essay on any one of the topics mentioned above.

Length of Essay:
The essay shall be no longer than 1500 words, footnotes included. There is no down limit, although essays shorter than 1500 words are not encouraged.

Format Requirement:
Typed on a A4 size electronic page
Font: Times New Roman
Font size shall be 12 points
1.5 interlinear space
Margins of 2.54 cm on top, bottom and both sides
It should include name of the Participant, Address, E-mail ID, Contact Number, Name of the School with address and email id in the cover page.
The List of References shall include all cited texts throughout the Written Submission.
Scoring of the essay:
Following criteria may be used in assessing the documents:
Content – Originality: 65 %
Clarity: 15 %
Structure: 10 %
Overall impression: 10 %
The quality of language will not be a decisive factor, as long as the text retains its clarity and coherence.

Category 4:

Photography Competition
Participants:

Class 9th - 12th
ONGC Foundation invites students & amateur photographers to promote and present through the medium of photography. This is a chance to have your displayed while supporting cleanliness at the same time.

Submit your photographs on subject: People, Place and Cleanliness

Format Requirement:
Photographs should be captured in High-Resolution (1080HD) .jpeg/.png format only
Submission Guidelines (Photography):
One participant can submit up to 3 photographs only.
All photographs and material submitted to this competition must be your own and should not be copied from anywhere else
Any photograph not following this theme will not be considered as a valid entry.
All decisions and results announced by the jury of this completion are final.
You should not post any photograph that do not comply to ONGC Foundation’s Terms and Conditions
This competition will be judged by renowned photographers.
We have the right to remove any entry we deem not suitable for the competition or is not following ONGC Foundation’s Terms and Conditions

Prizes:
ONGC Foundation will honour each of the winner in each category with cash prizes as under:

The winner of the competition: Rs. 5000/-
First Runner Up of the competition: Rs. 3000/-
Second Runner Up of the competition: Rs. 2000/-
Consolation Prizes: Rs. 500/- each (Up to three prices)
Total Prizes in no. - 30
All participants will be awarded a certificate of participation by the ONGC Foundation. Separate intimation will also be sent to each of the winner.
