ABOUT THE CONTEST
NetSmartz Workshop® knows how hard it is to get the attention of teens, especially with a topic like Internet safety. That’s why we’re asking you to speak up for safety. There’s no one better to speak to teens about being safer online than other teens.
Together with Lockheed Martin, NetSmartz is inviting teens (ages 13-18) to submit a 30 to 60-second video that answers the question “What’s one thing teens need to know about being safer online?” Get your friends and family to vote. More votes = higher score!
PRIZES
The winning PSAs will be awarded Visa gift cards!
1st - $500 2nd - $350 3rd - $150
IMPORTANT DATES!
Contest opens: March 31, 2015
Deadline for entries: May 12, 2015
Deadline for voting: May 19, 2015
Winning PSAs released online: June 10, 2015
HOW TO ENTER
Read the official rules! If you have any questions, please contact at etsmartz_contact@ncmec.org.
Think about the question “What’s one thing teens need to know about being safer online?” Plan a PSA around your answer. Remember, this is your time to speak up for safety, so what do you want to say?
Create your PSA! It should be at least 30 seconds long and no more than 60 seconds. You can use any style you’d like – write a script and film your friends acting it out, draw characters and animate it – it’s your choice!
Complete the online entry form. You’ll need to upload your video and all release form(s). See the Contest Q & A in this packet to learn more about the release forms.
Ask your friends and family to vote! Good luck!
What’s a PSA? A PSA, or public service announcement, is a short video that raises awareness about an issue. You’ve probably seen them on TV or online. You may want to look at some examples of video PSAs online for inspiration
