National Online Essay Writing Competition

The office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India is organising the second National Online Essay Writing Competition as part of Audit Diwas celebrations on the topic “Celebrating the resilience of the Indian Democracy and the role of the CAG of India”.

The essay competition aims to make the youth of the country aware of the institution of CAG of India and appreciate the contribution of the CAG in promoting public accountability and good governance. The competition will also give an opportunity for young minds to harness their creativity and express ways in which the institution of the CAG can contribute to good governance.


Gratifications:
The essays will be evaluated separately in English and Hindi. Winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes as follows:
• First prize: ₹30,000
• Second prize: ₹20,000
• Third prize: ₹15,000

Please Note: There are no charges/registration for participation in the competition.

Eligibility:
1. The online essay writing competition is open to all persons who are currently enrolled in a course of study at any institution recognized by any University in India.
2. The participant should not be more than 25 years old as on 20 July 2023.
3. Employees of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department shall not be eligible for participating in the competition.
4. Only one entry from each participant will be considered. In case it is discovered that a participant has submitted more than one entry, all the entries from the participant will be disqualified.

Mode of Submission:
• The length of the essay should not exceed 1500 words.
• The Essay may be written either in English or Hindi.
• The participants would be required to submit six documents online as attachments in a single e-mail to the address: essay2023@cag.gov.in. The details of these documents are given in paras 5.4.1.1 to 5.4.1.5. The subject of the e-mail should be written as “CAG’s National Online Essay Writing Competition”.
• Participants should send the essays in MS word docx - Calibri (English)/Mangal (Hindi) and pdf format. The names of both the .docx and .pdf file should be the e-mail id (excluding the domain name) of the participant followed by language (English/Hindi)1 in which the essay has been written. Essays sent by post will not be considered. Mention of the participant’s name/email or other personal details anywhere in the body of the essay will lead to disqualification.

Timeline:
Essays may be e-mailed on any date from 10:00 hrs on 21 July 2023 to 17:00 hrs on 20 August 2023. Entries received beyond this period will not be considered.

“Rang De Veer”–All India Open Online Painting Contest

The purpose of the contest is to create awareness about the fallen heroes of our Armed Forces and generate a nationalistic feeling among all the school children.
 
Theme

 The theme of the contest is, “Balidan” – saluting the sacrifice of the fallen soldiers of our Armed Forces right from India’s independence in 1947 till date.
 
Who can Participate

The contest is open to:
All children studying in Class I to Class XII in any school located in India.
All children studying in “open schools” affiliated to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and pursuing studies through open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
All “children with special needs” enrolled in regular/special schools under “Special Category” of the contest.
All children holding Indian passports and studying in CBSE affiliated schools outside India.
 There is no participation fee and only Indian nationals can take part in the contest.

The contest is being conducted under two categories:
Junior Category: Students of Class I to Class VI (or up to 12 years of age)
Senior Category: Students of Class VII to Class XII (or up to 18 years of age)

The children can take part in the contest by submitting a painting, which should be a tribute to the sacrifice (Balidan) of any one or more fallen heroes of our Armed Forces from any war/operation since 1947.

How to Submit

The participants should make a painting and then digitize it by scanning or using a good quality camera (Stand Alone or Mobile Phone). The participants are requested to send only the digitized version of the painting.
The digitized painting should be A3 in size (11.69 by 16.54 inches) with a minimum 300 PPI (Pixels per Inch) resolution.
In case of junior category, the digitized painting should be sent to the mail ID honourpoint.rdv.junior@gmail.com. The mail should be sent along with the contact mail ID of the participant (or parent/teacher) and copy of his/her photo identity (School ID/ Aadhaar Card etc.)

Kids 4 Human Rights International Drawing Contest 2023

The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has teamed up with Spanish artist Cristobal Gabarron and the Gabarron Foundation to launch an international drawing contest urging young people to reflect on the importance of human rights.

Wizquiz: All India Inter School Quiz Competition 2023 - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY (NDA)

The National Defence Academy is proud to present Wizquiz: an all-India quiz competition for children studying in classes 9-12, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the institution.

The quiz will be conducted in a hybrid model. The preliminary, zonal and semi-final rounds will be conducted online. The Grand Final will be conducted at NDA, in front of the magnificent Sudan Block. Bharath Cycle Design Challenge (BCDC)

AICTE, India is organizing a Bharath Cycle Design Challenge 2023 on the occasion of World Cycle Day 2023.



Eligibility
The competition is open to students of Technical Institutions in India approved by AICTE. 

Team:
a) Each team should be led by a designated Team Leader.
b) Team Leader will be the primary contact person for communication with the AICTE and is responsible for submitting the design entry on behalf of the team.
c) Teams should consist of 3 to 5 members.
Roles and Responsibilities:
a) Team Leader should coordinate and delegate responsibilities among team members.
b) Each team member should contribute their expertise and actively participate in the design process.
c) Collaboration and effective communication within the team are crucial for a successful submission.
Design Submission:
a) Team Leader is responsible for submitting the complete design entry on behalf of the team.
b) The submission should include all required elements, such as 2D and 3D models, technical specifications, and the Bill of Materials (BOM).

The competition will offer prizes for winners, which will be communicated before or during the competition.
Four teams will be shortlisted for the final event in each category i.e., there shall be a total of 16 teams for the grand finale.

AICTE will provide an amount of Rs. 40,000/- (Forty Thousand Rupees only) per team to all 16 short-listed teams as seed money for prototype development, design and fabrication purpose.

Bett Asia School Challenge

An exciting new initiative for 2023, the Bett Asia School Challenge is a Southeast Asia-wide competition for students aged 7-17, created to promote big-thinking and innovative ideas on a large scale, to help provide solutions for schools and education issues using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
 

Supported by iTrain Asia, the challenge aims to drive grassroots innovation in schools, and will allow students to showcase their solutions and ideas using four key skills:
 

✓  Critical Thinking

✓  Collaboration

✓  Creativity

✓  Communication  


The challenge will ask students to imagine solutions for today’s problems to help tomorrow’s world across three unique design challenges based on three of the SDGs:  
 

✓  Life below Water (SDG 14) for students aged 6-12

✓  Life on Land (SDG 15) for students aged 13-17

✓  Climate Action (SDG 13) for students aged 13-17   


Students will work in teams of a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 10 on their chosen projects at school from mid-July and submit their final project by 8 September.   


Finalists will be approached individually so that they can arrange their travel as early as possible.   


Finalists will be asked to pitch their projects onstage to a panel of judges in front of all participating schools at the exciting live final at Bett Asia (taking place at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand) on 5 October 2023 in the morning.   


Winners will receive a coveted Bett Asia School Challenge trophy and exciting prizes!

How does it work?

Registered teachers will be invited to attend two online sessions to better understand the challenge, ask questions, and get the right training on how to use a Google platform, which their students can use for the challenge. Here are the next steps: 

Before Wednesday 10 July 2023: Register here and create your teams. We recommend 3-10 students per team, but you can have multiple teams in your class.

Wednesday 12 July 2023 (10:00 - 11:00am BST / 16:00 - 17:00 ICT):  Registered teachers will attend a one-hour online information session that will provide an overview of the challenge, the platform, and its features.

Tuesday 18 July 2023 (03:00 - 11:00am BST / 09:00 - 17:00 ICT): An online training session with challenge partner iTrain Asia on how to use Google tools to complete the challenge. It is compulsory to attend this session to submit the project and join the challenge.  

August: Work with your students on their projects in school  

Friday 8 September 2023  (11:00 BST / 18:00 ICT): Submit your team's final project for judging

Mid September: Finalists announced!

Thursday 5 October 2023: EXCITING LIVE FINAL. Finalists will be asked to pitch their projects live on the main stage- to a panel of judges, other schools and delegates- at Bett Asia 2023 in Bangkok. The challenge is in-person only. Teams will have to travel to Bangkok at their own expense to present their project.

Digital India Quiz on Stay Safe Online

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India is running a campaign titled ‘Stay Safe Online’ during India’s G20 presidency. The campaign would sensitize internet users about online cyber risks and safety measures, and promote safe online behavior and best practices on cyber hygiene. 


In collaboration with MyGov, Stay Safe Online is organizing a Quiz on Digital India to inculcate cyber hygiene practices amongst the citizens of the Country to safeguard themselves in the Digital space. The selected winners will receive a certificate and cash prize during Digital India Week 2023 in Delhi.

4th National Online Quiz on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) provides a market mechanism for reorganization and insolvency resolution of corporate persons, partnership firms, and individuals in a time bound manner for maximization of value of assets of such persons, to promote entrepreneurship, availability of credit and balance the interests of all the stakeholders. It is one of the deepest economic reforms in India in recent years. Elucidating its importance, the Hon’ble Prime Minister in his address at the centenary celebrations of the Kirloskar Group on 6th January 2020 observed:

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is a key pillar of the ecosystem responsible for the implementation of the IBC. It is responsible for the development and regulation of insolvency professionals and other service providers. It regulates various processes, namely, corporate insolvency resolution, corporate liquidation, a fresh start, individual insolvency resolution and individual bankruptcy. It acts as the ‘Authority’ for the regulation and development of the profession of valuers.

 
To promote awareness and understanding of the IBC among various stakeholders (Indian citizens) across the country, the IBBI has launched this online Quiz in collaboration with MyGov.in.
