The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), under the Government of India, is mandated to provide services for weather, climate, ocean and coastal state, hydrology, seismology, and natural hazards; to explore and harness marine living and non-living resources in a sustainable manner for the country and to explore the three poles of the Earth (Arctic, Antarctic and Himalayas). Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April. This year’s Earth Day theme is ‘Invest in Our Planet’. As the subject suggested, we all have to step up together and start investing to save our mother Earth.

On the occasion of Earth Day, The Ministry of Earth Sciences invites the public to participate in a ‘Quiz Contest’. The contest is aimed to encourage the zealous youth of the nation for the sustainable development of the planet.

The Earth Day quiz comprises 20 questions that revolve around the theme. These questions are intended to pique participants’ interest in learning more about the holistic evolution of the Earth and Science.

Covering various aspects of topics related to the Panchayati Raj System, Schemes and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ iconic week, let’s provide a strong source of inspiration to all citizens of this country to show their skills in poster making competition - Depicting the Soul of the Rural India.


A streamlined governance, especially at the local level benefits the nation as a whole. India is a signatory to the UN 2030 Agenda to achieve inclusive and people-centric sustainable development through the 17 SDGs. Thus, with greater cooperation from the citizens of India, efforts of the Government of India and the local bodies towards a qualitative and quantitative transformation of the Panchayati Raj System would be fulfilled.

Competition Guidelines:
• The competition is open for all Indian citizens.
• The participants may hand draw/sketch the poster on A3 or A4 pages or create digitally designed posters through computer software as well.
• Posters can be submitted in PDF or JPEG format.
• One participant can submit only one entry.

IndiaSkills is the country’s biggest skill competition and involves an extensive process of tests, trainings and selections, starting at the district and state level, followed by regional and national competitions.

On the occasion of Earth Day, the Ministry of Earth Sciences invites the public to participate in an essay writing competition towards a prosperous and sustainable future, and to restore nature and build a healthy planet. The topic of the essay writing competition is ‘My Contribution to Earth’. This year’s theme is ‘Invest In Our Planet’. We need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). This is the moment to change it all — the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate. The competition is aimed to encourage the people to preserve and protect our planet’s health. The essays should meet the word limit of 1000 words and should be in a pdf format.

TERI and U.S. Consulate General Chennai as part of their ongoing school program- Ocean Matters: Safeguarding Our Oceans, is organising a poster competition- GLOW UP THE EARTH: INVEST IN OUR PLANET. The competition invites students from grade 8-12 to participate and showcases solutions to address some of the prevailing problems affecting our Ocean and its vast resources through the medium of art. We hope that the posters will share messages on how you /others have contributed to conserve, protect and rejuvenate the ocean and its vast resources. The posters will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges drawn from multidisciplinary background. Urban Sanitation Photostory Competition


Sanitation Capacity Building Platform (SCBP) at National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is organizing a “Urban Sanitation Photostory Competition” to raise awareness around India’s urban sanitation scenario and its importance for urban development in the youth of India.

1. This “Photography Contest” is brought to you by Indiatourism, Delhi - Ministry of Tourism (referred to as the “Organizer” or “Company”).

2. The competition is open to the residents of India above the age of 18 years. Employees of Indiatourism, Delhi (Ministry of Tourism) and their close relatives/anyone connected with the Organisation or judging of the competition will not be allowed to participate.

3. Only the images of the specified locations need to be submitted.

4. The Participants are required to send their entries through the online form/email provided by Indiatourism, Delhi.

5. High-resolution digital images are required with a minimum of 300 dpi at 2,000 pixels on the longest side, and no larger than 10 MB. The images should not be stretched or distorted, and should be in .jpeg, .jpg, .png or .gif formats. Electronic entries that are not of high enough resolution to be published in the magazine will be disqualified.

6. The Participants will also have to share a short brief about the photograph submitted.

7. Closing date for the entries will be 25th April 2022 After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

8. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received by 25th April 2022 for whatever reason.

9. There is no entry fee to enter this competition.

10. A participant may submit a maximum of 5 entries. Only the first 5 entries shall be considered for the Contest.

11. Winning images will be published in the upcoming Indiatourism, Delhi (Ministry of Tourism) magazine. Due credit will be given to the Participants in the magazine.

12. The Participants whose images will be shortlisted, will also receive Goodies from Indiatourism, Delhi.

13. Winners will be chosen by an independent adjudicator or panel of judges appointed by the Indiatourism, Delhi (Ministry of Tourism).

14. The selected images will become the sole property of India tourism Delhi (Ministry of Tourism) and can be used anytime in the future with due credit.

4th Prof. V.S. Mani Memorial National Essay Competition 2022


The V.S. Mani Centre for Air and Space Law (VSMCASL), Gujarat National Law University along with the support of the generous grant from Prof. Stephan Hobe, Institute of Air Law, Space Law and Cyber Law, University of Cologne, Germany launches the 4th Prof. V.S. Mani Memorial National Essay Competition 2022. The Essay Competition is an endeavor to commemorate the inspiring contribution of Prof. (Dr.) V.S. Mani in the field of international law, particularly air and space law.

Theme
The essay should focus on any contemporary issue of ‘Air and Space Law’.

Objective
To encourage and provide an opportunity for research to the students having a passion for Air and Space Law.

DOKA (Depth Of Knowledge Assessment)


DOKA (Depth of Knowledge Assessment) is an annual international math problem-solving competition held all over the world. It is sponsored by Scholastic Trust Singapore and conducted by SMO Education Group, Academy Team Mathics, and Singapore International Math Contests Centre (SIMCC) (STS).

Many people are unaware that one of the most significant components of Higher Order Thinking Skills is Reasoning Skills (HOTS). Reasoning is the process of thinking logically and rationally about something in order to come up with a solution to a problem by weighing several choices.

DOKA provides a healthy competitive platform for children in Grades 1 to 12 (Primary 1 to A-Levels) to evaluate their HOTS and IQ ability within their year level group. Parents and teachers can use this time to evaluate their children and students before attempting more difficult math competitions or IQ exams in the future.

3rd National Online Quiz on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016



The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) provides a market mechanism for reorganisation and insolvency resolution of corporate persons, partnership firms and individuals in a time bound manner for maximization of value of assets of such persons, to promote entrepreneurship, availability of credit and balance the interests of all the stakeholders. It is one of the deepest economic reforms of India in the recent years.
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is a key pillar of the ecosystem responsible for implementation of the IBC. It is responsible for development and regulation of insolvency professionals and other service providers. It regulates various processes, namely, corporate insolvency resolution, corporate liquidation, fresh start, individual insolvency resolution and individual bankruptcy. It acts as the ‘Authority’ for regulation and development of the profession of valuers.

To promote awareness and understanding of the IBC among various stakeholders (Indian citizens) across the country, the IBBI has launched this online Quiz in collaboration with MyGov.in.

International Day of Yoga 2022 Quiz


Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed all over the world in ever-growing numbers, to remind people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health.

The preparations for the 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2022) have already begun and the Ministry of Ayush (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people.

With this backdrop, MoA has launched a quiz competition to commemorate the occasion of the 8th IDY, and test citizens’ awareness about Yoga, past IDY observances, and various initiatives being conducted this year by the Ministry.

On successful completion, each participant will be awarded an e-certificate marking their participation and completion.

Sabka Vikas Mahaquiz - Quiz on PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana



The Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to the ideals of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The Government has been working to ensure basic necessities to all citizens of the country through various programmes and schemes for the holistic welfare of the poor and marginalised sections of society. These are aimed at serving the last person at the bottom of the pyramid. In the last seven years, there has been an exponential leap in ensuring last-mile delivery to the poorest sections of society. Whether it be in the unprecedented number of houses built (PM Awas Yojana), water connections given (Jal Jeevan Mission), bank accounts (Jan Dhan), direct benefit transfer to farmers (PM KISAN) or free gas connections (Ujjwala). As India celebrates 75 years of its Independence, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government has stepped up efforts to engage with the citizens in participatory governance and delivery of schemes and programmes

As a part of this last-mile delivery approach, MyGov is organising the Sabka Vikas Ka Mahaquiz Series, which is part of an outreach effort to build awareness in citizens. The quiz aims to sensitise the participants about the various schemes and initiatives and how to avail the benefits. Massive participation in the quiz series will deepen government engagement at the grassroots level. MyGov invites all of you to participate and test your knowledge of New India. Top 1,000 winners will get Rs 2,000/- per quiz.

The first quiz will be on the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

MGKAY is a unique scheme to combat the effects of the covid pandemic on the poor of the country. As a result, a total of 759 Lakh MT foodgrains were allocated for the scheme with a financial implication of about Rs.2.6 Lakh Crore. As Prime Minister Modi said, “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is working to ensure that nobody sleeps on an empty stomach.

IBEF Quiz Contest


Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has made an appeal towards acceptance and promotion of Indian toys and being Vocal for Indian Toys. Under this initiative, IBEF has taken various steps to promote Indian Toys in domestic and overseas markets.

The purpose of this Toy Donation Drive (24 March to 17 April 2022) is to spread awareness about Indian Toys and to inculcate the idea of sharing amongst Indian kids and parents.

Smart Metering Quiz


The Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has launched a reforms-based and results-linked Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The scheme aims to improve the operational efficiencies and financially reform ailing public sector DISCOMs/Power Departments by providing conditional assistance to them for strengthening of supply infrastructure. The assistance will be based on meeting pre-defined parameters as well as achievement of basic minimum benchmarks set by the DISCOMs and the Centre. The Scheme would be available till the year 2025-26. REC and PFC have been nominated as nodal agencies for facilitating implementation of the Scheme.

Given the massive losses suffered by DISCOMs as a result of power theft, AT&C losses, meter tampering, inaccurate billing, etc. RDSS offers a lifeline to help turn around the fortunes of the distribution sector in a bid to establish a robust, reliable and resilient power sector.

This quiz is being organized for generating awareness and sensitizing the public at large about smart metering and RDSS scheme as a whole. Furthermore, it aims to inform people about the various benefits they will derive from the scheme.

3. The quiz will be available for all contestants for the period of 1 minute [60 seconds], in which they have to answer 10 questions.

International Day of Yoga 2022 Jingle Contest


Ministry of Ayush (MoA) is calling on the public at large to write and compose a Jingle for the upcoming International Day of Yoga, 2022 in the official Indian language as mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution along with English and other UN languages.

The Jingle should be apt, relevant and appealing. It should endeavour to drive awareness and adoption of Yoga by people of all ages. It should highlight the cause of Yoga to serve as a tool in the betterment of the health and wellbeing of the community, especially improving physical and mental health.

It must focus on encouraging people to participate in the observance of IDY, 2022 with their family and friends. To get more information on Yoga, IDY, and the various initiatives being undertaken by the MoA, participants can visit https://yoga.ayush.gov.in/

It may cover aspects like the importance of the regular practice of Yoga to boost the immunity level and combat COVID-19, as a stress buster, improving productivity at work etc.

Competition brief
Participants need to provide a script and a jingle of 25-30 seconds duration in any official Indian language as mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution along with English and other UN languages- that is easily comprehensible, is peppy and connects with the public at large.
The participants should upload their entry as a high-quality audio file to any media platform such as SoundCloud, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox etc. and enter the publicly accessible link in the comments section. The script also needs to be submitted in the form of a PDF document.

A cash prize of INR 25,000 will be given to one winning entry.

The last date of submission is 21st June 2022.
