The College Monk $1500 short essay scholarship is an essay required scholarship with no GPA requirements. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to high school graduating students or college students who are going to attend an accredited institution in the US. The scholarship is awarded once each year and is available to all eligible students regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on the essay provided.

13th edition of Key Colours: International Contest for Artists

Clavis Publishing and the city of Hasselt launch the 13th edition of Key Colours, the two-yearly international contest for illustrators of children’s books. Only a children’s book, intended for children from 2 to 7 years old, can qualify for the award. A professional jury will judge the artistic, literary and child-oriented qualities of the works.

The winner receives 7,500 euro and the winning work will be published by Clavis Publishing.

From all entries, a selection will be made for a children’s books exhibition in Hasselt. At the exhibition children will award their favourite illustration with the Children’s Award. 

Apart from the winner, other entries may also be considered for publication by Clavis. The award and the resulting picture books will be largely discussed in the press and at book fairs abroad. For many illustrators this unique award is the start of a successful international career.

The first mentoring camp was conducted on April 26, 2013 at National Science Centre, New Delhi.Out of the 1000 plus entries received from schools across India, the top 100 students were invited to present their projects to the panel of judges from IIT, Delhi. Projects sent by 15 finalists included research on endangered species; a better understanding of tumours; an algorithm for safer encryption; a green method to clean water; a new kind of magnet and more.

Eduheal Foundation, an international NGO was one of the Google Science Fair partners who helped make this competition possible by reaching out to the Indian schools in a large way.

Glocal Teen Hero India 2020

Glocal Teen Hero is a platform that is exclusively for the teenagers that recognize their initiation, creativity and enthusiasm so as to empower them.  It is a fully funded program exclusively for Nepali Teenagers and is an initiation of Glocal- Khabar, an online news portal based on youth, education and entrepreneurship. It is an award night dedicated to the passionate and innovative teenagers who are also working to create a ripple effect in the society besides academics.

The overall purpose of this program is to motivate and encourage teenagers to step out of their comfort zone, be creative and nurture entrepreneurial thinking. It also acts out as a great platform for them to network with delegates from various industries in Nepal.

It is an opportunity of life time, not only to the winner, but all the applicants, finalists and other teenagers to develop themselves through networking, collaboration and pooling of opportunities.

It is not a competition. It is just an award gala where all the teenagers come together, showcase their initiation and achievement, meet people from various industry of India and Network that will result in collaboration and creation of more opportunity.

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020 seeks to not only take away the stress of our young students, who will be appearing for board examinations and other entrance examinations but will also give them an opportunity to meet Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and ask him questions that they always wanted to. For this, an online contest was organised on MyGov Innovate platform from 2nd December 2019 to 23rd Dec 2019 in which more than 3 Lakh students of classes 9th - 12th participated. Missed out on submitting your entry for PPC 2020? MyGov gives you a golden opportunity to meet and interact with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the PPC 2020 Live Event in New Delhi.

Submit an anecdote on the theme ‘How to deal with examination stress’ through an Essay, Short film, Poster or Jingle (any 1). 50 students of Classes 9th -12th stand a chance to attend Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020 Live Event in New Delhi.

6. The participant must be the same person who has conceptualized and shot the Short Film and plagiarism will not be accepted. Strict penal action will be taken against any violation of this clause not limited to disqualification from the competition.

2. The winners will be required to carry their posters in person ensuring safe delivery to MyGov at their own responsibility.

Khula Aasmaan along with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is happy to announce a special international painting contest to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
 International painting competition theme -
World of Mahatma Gandhi The theme for this international art competition is "World of Mahatma Gandhi".
This theme allows the participants to draw and paint on a wide range of subjects related to the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The participants can depict important events in the life of the Mahatma and / or create an artwork which will depict the Mahatma's vision, philosophy and ideas on subjects as diverse as rural development, swadeshi, khadi, women empowerment, cleanliness and many other subjects dear to the Mahatma.

Eligibility
Children and young adults of all nationalities between the age group 10 to 19 years are invited to participate. The contest is online and open 24 x 7. The participation is FREE.
The participants to this international art contest for children and college students can participate online by filling up the contest form provided and uploading the images of their artworks. Please read the terms and conditions for this contest.

Contest Period
The contest opens on 2nd October 2019 (150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi) and closes on 30th January 2020 (death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi).

Artwork Details for the Painting Contest
The participants are free to use any medium of their choice for their submission. They can use pencils, colour pencils, charcoal, oil pastels, pen & ink, watercolours, acrylic and oil paints. The base could be paper or canvas. The size of the artwork should A4 (21 x 29.7 centimeters) or A3 (29.7 x 42.0cm).

Art Contest Results
The first shortlist will be declared on 15 February 2020
The shortlisted artworks are to be sent to Khula Aasmaan for final judging latest by 10 March 2020.
Final result will be declared on 31 March 2020.

Online exhibition of all prize winning and shortlisted artworks will open on 15 April 2020
Prize distribution ceremony will be organised during summer holidays of 2020 (between 1 May to 15 June 2020) at a location to be notified later.

ALL INDIA OPEN MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION

Institute for Promotion of Mathematics is a unique Institute working since 1996 for school going children. We, at the Institute realize and understand that the present education set up does not give the students enough opportunity to tackle mathematical problems outside the routine path of school examinations. Hence the Mathematics Scholarship Examination syllabus comprises of thought provoking and challenging topics, thus exposing some fascinating facets of mathematics.

Mathematics Scholarship Examination is a Competitive Examination conducted by the Institute for Promotion of Mathematics for various standards where the mathematical skills, mental ability, calculations speed, critical analysis and accuracy of a child & application of short-cut methods are tested. 
IPM 2020 Final will be conducted on 19th April 2020. Last date for Enrollment is 31st Jan 2020. 

Who is Eligible? 
Any student studying in Std. II to IX of any Recognized School with S. S. C., I. C. S. E., C. B. S. E. & I. B. or any other Board Pattern, is eligible to appear for the All India Open Mathematics Scholarship Examination. 
A Students can appear for Mathematics Scholarship Examination for the class only in which he is studying during the academic year. 

Medium of Examination : English & Marathi 

Nature of Question Paper : 
The students appearing for the Mathematics Scholarship Examination will be tested in the subject Mathematics only. The question paper will consist of 40 questions, of 21/2 marks each. The entire paper will be objective in nature, i.e. each question will be supported by four alternative answers. The duration of the examination will be 60 minutes for the Final Examination. Students are requested to study the OMR sheet available on our website www.ipm-mathemagic.com 

Examination Fee The Examination fee for the Final and Mega Final of the All India Open Mathematics Scholarship Examination will be as follows : Standard Examination Fee (Final & Mega Final) II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII & IX - Rs. 400/-  (Rupees Four Hundered only)

A total amount of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakh) will be awarded as scholarship to the students and Schools

CBSE Art Exhibition for the academic session 2019-20 would be organized at Regional Level in different parts of the country on 22nd -23rd January, 2020. 
The National Level Exhibition will be held in Delhi on 4 th – 5 th February, 2020. 
Following are the details: 
1. Theme : Various Colours of Indian Culture 
2. Categories: 
Primary - Class 4th – 5 th 
Middle - Class 6th – 8 th 
Secondary - Class 9th – 10th 
Sr. Secondary - Class 11th – 12th 
Interested students of the above classes can participate. 

3. Registration: The schools willing to participate can register upto 20th January, 2020 through CBSE Art Exhibition webportal at the link http://59.179.16.89/cbse/web/ARTEX/Login.aspx
The details of registration process are given in the annexure 1. 
3.1 Registration Fee (Non-Refundable): Rs. 1000/- per school. 
4. Medium: Sculpture / Rangoli / Heritage Craft on the theme. 

5. Guidelines for Participation: 
5.1. There can be maximum 01 entry / exhibit per category from each school. 
5.2. A School Team for an entry / exhibit will be represented by 
a. either an individual student or two students, and 
b. one mentor Arts teacher. 
5.3. The names of the students and the mentor teacher, once registered online, will not be changed at any stage of the exhibition. 
5.4. The school team participating at Regional Level and National Level must remain the same
5.5. Care should be taken that eco-friendly materials are used in the preparation of exhibits. Do not use thermacol, plastic, polythene, eatables, non-biodegradable material and any other non-eco-friendly items. 
5.6. The exhibits will be assessed by a team of experts as per the following criteria:
 a. Creativity 20% 
b. Originality 30% 
c. Technical Skill, Workmanship, Craftsmanship etc. 30% 
d. Presentation 20% 
 The decision of the expert team/judges would be final.
 6. The participating school/team will bear all expenses related to participation in the event. 
7. The participating teams will make their own lodging/boarding arrangements at the venue city of Exhibition. 

8. Keypoints related to the conduct of Exhibition: 
8.1. The Regional Level of the Art Exhibition will be held in the following cities. The information regarding the venues will be notified later. Bengaluru Bhopal Bhubaneswar Chennai Dehradun Delhi (East & West) Guwahati Jaipur Jalandhar Karnal Kochi Lucknow Noida Patna Pune

The much awaited annual event, the hunt for India’s smartest young minds has begun! The 19th Edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz 2020 Competition is all set to challenge the wizards of your school.

The quiz contest will have two categories: Juniors (IV – VI Std) and Seniors (VII – IX Std).
This multi-city, mega quiz, one of the largest in the country is being conducted in many cities across India. The Hindu Young World Quiz will be conducted in the following cities.

Juniors (IV - VI Std) & Seniors (VII - IX Std) : Coimbatore, Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai

  • A team should consist of two members and any bonafide team from a school can take part in the Hindu Young World Quiz by registering online and paying a non-refundable fee of Rs. 200 per team
  • The team members should be from the same school/branch. No cross teams allowed.
  • The registration would have to be completed 2 days before the schedule of quiz
  • The quiz would be two-tiered: Common written preliminaries and an on-stage Final for the Top 6 teams (based on the marks scored in the prelims).
  • Prizes (Category-wise)
    •     * 1st to 3rd .. Trophy + Certificate 
    •     * 4th to 6th .. Consolation Shield + Certificate
