#nofilter by IndiGo is a community of photographers who wear their passion with pride when it comes to showing the world through their lens. All you need is a camera, a view, and the inherent need to tell stories that are raw, unadulterated, and beautiful.

The first phase, in collaboration with National Geographic India, culminated into a reality show that garnered over 90,000 entries. The first season aired on National Geographic Channel and Disney+ Hotstar.

The series not only raised the bar for photography excellence but also empowered passionate photographers across the country. Being a part of the community opens up avenues to become the next big thing in the world of photography, just like it did for Harsh Kharwar, the winner of #nofilter by IndiGo Season 1.

So, keep it real and join the #nofilter by IndiGo community. Coming back with Season 2.

To participate in this Contest, the Participant should be a citizen of India, at least eighteen (18) years of age and is a resident of India and currently residing in India.

HCL Jigsaw is a pioneering program of HCL Group, a $13.1 billion global conglomerate. The program is aimed at raising awareness  the importance of 21st-century skills and building a community of young problem-solvers through a pan-India problem-solving assessment program.

2024 Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest

The UNESCO Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads photo contest, part of the Organization’s Silk Roads Programme of the Social and Human Sciences Sector, promotes photography as a tool for encouraging cultural interaction, fostering mutual understanding, and promoting peace among the people living in the regions connected by the Silk Roads.



This year, the theme of the 6th edition is “Life Celebrations”, inviting young photographers to explore and capture the essence of cultural celebrations along the historic Silk Roads. This theme is more relevant than ever in the current global landscape marked by escalating conflicts, economic instability, and the climate crisis, where young people are facing unprecedented levels of discouragement. Visually capturing and celebrating life also aims to engage youth in positive and hopeful paths and create a digital space to foster this mindset.

Photographers exploring the theme of “Life Celebrations” along the Silk Roads might capture the following:

Birth and Naming ceremonies.
Heartfelt commemorations of anniversaries symbolising the passage of time and the endurance of relationships.
Symbolic rites of passage ceremonies.
Colourful and festive engagement ceremonies and weddings showcasing cultural traditions and the union of families.
Traditional and modern celebrations of seasonal transitions, such as Spring or Autumn Festivals, such as Nowruz, and harvest festivals, reflecting the cyclical nature of life and the rhythms of nature.
Events and celebrations: including rituals, festivals, and pilgrimages that honour spiritual beliefs and cultural heritage.
Photo entries will be examined by an International Selection Committee composed of the following photographers: GMB Akash (Bangladesh), Fatimah Hossaini (Afghanistan), Liang Li (China), Mustafa Seven (Türkiye), and Osama Silwadi (Palestine).

World Environment Day 2024 Drawing and Essay competition

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2024 The Assam Tribune in association with Pollution Control Board, Assam is organising an online Drawing and Essay competition form school and college students


The global Theme for this year’s World Environment Day is to address the issues related to land pollution. Earth’s lands are degrading – driven by unsustainable consumption, agriculture and pollution. Land degradation negatively affects 3.2 billion people worldwide.

This World Environment Day, the focus is on how to restore land, avoid pollutants and revive water sources.

The 2024 World Environment Day campaign #GenerationRestoration calls for global solutions to address Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience.

The drawing and essay completion is organised in three different categories. 2024 Essay Award for Young Economists - WTO

The WTO has issued a call for young economists to submit papers for the 2024 WTO Essay Award. The aim of the award is to promote high-quality research on trade policy and international trade cooperation and to reinforce the relationship between the WTO and the academic community. Essays must be submitted by 3 June 2024.


Prize
The annual WTO Essay Award provides a prize of CHF 5,000 to the author(s) of the winning essay. In the case of a co-authored paper, the prize will be equally divided among the authors. The winning paper will be officially announced at the annual meeting of the European Trade Study Group (ETSG), the largest conference specializing in international trade. The award ceremony will take place on 12-14 September 2024 at Athens University in Greece. The winning author will receive funding to attend the meeting.

Selection
An Academic Selection Panel is responsible for the selection of the winning paper. The panel comprises:

Professor Beata Javorcik (University of Oxford)
Professor Robert Staiger (Dartmouth College)
Professor Alberto Trejos (INCAE Business School).
Professor Ralph Ossa (Director, Economic Research and Statistics Division, WTO Secretariat) is ex officio member of the panel. Dr Roberta Piermartini (Chief, Trade Cost Analysis Section, WTO) coordinates the work of the selection panel.

Eligibility
The paper must address issues related to trade policy and international trade cooperation.  The author(s) of the paper must possess or be engaged in the completion of a PhD degree and, if over 30 years of age, be no more than two years past a PhD defense. In the case of co-authored papers, this requirement shall apply to all authors. In addition, to be considered for the award, essays cannot exceed 15,000 words.

27ᵗʰ Annual H.M. Seervai Essay Competition in Constitutional Law

The National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, invites entries for the 27ᵗʰ Annual H.M. Seervai Essay Competition in Constitutional Law. Participants in this pan-India essay competition stand a chance to win the prestigious H.M. Seervai Gold Medal from NLSIU. The winning essay will be published in the National Law School Journal.


About the competition
In 1997, Senior Advocate Navroz Seervai instituted a Gold Medal in the name of the distinguished jurist, the late H.M. Seervai, for the best original essay written on the themes specified in Indian Constitutional Law. Over the years, this essay writing competition has become a prestigious event for law students all over India. The significant rise every year in the number of contributions from the student community shows their mark of respect and tribute to one of the greatest legal luminaries of our country, Hormasji Maneckji Seervai.

Con Brio Piano - The John Gomes Memorial Competition & Festiva

Con Brio, The John Gomes Memorial Piano Competition and Festival, is an annual event presented by Furtados and directed by Parvesh Java. The competition aims to provide a strong incentive to young Indian pianists to aim for high standards of pianism. The festival aims to promote strong relationships among Western Classical Musicians, especially pianists. Centred on a philosophy of collaboration, the event has musicians from India and abroad coming together not only to perform with each other but also to embark on educational projects such as music lessons, masterclasses, workshops and a piano camp.


Furtados is pleased to announce the fourteenth Con Brio Competition which will take place at the NCPA (Mumbai) on August 26, 27, 28 and 29, 2024. The Competition Suite comprises three categories: Piano, Violin/Viola and Voice.

 Voice Semifinalists are expected to arrive in Mumbai by Monday, August 26, 12:00 pm at the very latest and depart no sooner than Tuesday, August 27, 10:00 pm.
 
Violin/Viola Semifinalists are expected to arrive in Mumbai by Tuesday, August 27, 12:00 pm at the very latest and depart no sooner than Wednesday, August 28, 10:00 pm.

Piano Semifinalists are expected to arrive in Mumbai by Wednesday, August 28, 12:00 pm at the very latest and depart no sooner than Thursday, August 29, 10:00 pm.


DISCIPLINE
​The subject of the competition is Western Classical solo music for Piano, Violin/Viola or Voice.
This includes music written from the late baroque period, through the classical and romantic till
the modern times. For music composed during and after the late nineteenth century, you must
ensure that the selected works follow the classical music paradigm and not jazz/pop/musical
theatre styles.

ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all Indian nationals (including PIO and OCI card holders). 

All Voice entrants must be born on or before January 1, 2006.

All Piano and Violin/Viola entrants must be born on or after January 1, 1989.

 You will need to produce a valid passport for verification purposes. Previous first-place winners of Con Brio and honorary Con Brio prize recipients may not enter the competition.
