International Year of Millets Photo Contest

Are you a professional or amateur photographer, or simply passionate about millets? Do you produce, process or promote millets and are you willing to share your experience? Join the IYM 2023 Photo Contest and help spread the word about the many benefits of millets, from their  diversity to the variety of nutritious dishes they can produce, their ability to thrive on arid lands, and their market potential.


Your photograph should illustrate one or more of the following aspects: 

Millets can fight hunger and contribute to food security; 
Millets are climate-resilient; 
Millets are tasty and can contribute to a healthy diet; 
Millets offer promising livelihood opportunities for small-scale farmers and small and medium enterprises for post-harvest and processing services; 
Millets are rich in heritage; 
Millets can be used in many innovative ways. 

Join the contest!
Step 1: Choose up to 5 of your own photos and prepare their captions. 
Step 2: Fill in and submit the registration form before 31 October 2023 for each photo.
Step 3: Share your photos on social media with the hashtags #IYM2023 and #YearOfMillets tagging @FAO. 
Step 4: Stay tuned to find out who the winners are! 

Who can take part?
Participants should be 18 years old or above.  

Prizes
The first prize winner of the photo contest will be invited to the official closing ceremony of the International Year of Millets in 2024. Travel expenses will be covered for the winner, according to FAO rules.   
Winners will be announced on the International Year of Millets website at the beginning of December 2023.  
Winners will be promoted on FAO social media, by FAO offices around the world and partner websites. 
All 5 winners will receive a certificate of recognition and surprise gift bag.  
In the event that any of the selected winner(s) of any prize (that is/are ineligible in accordance with these Contest rules and/or the General Rules, Copyright and Privacy) cannot be traced, or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and it will be in the sole discretion of FAO to choose whether to award the prize to another eligible entry.  
When winning photos are published, only the first and family name will be published. No other personal information about the contestants will be published or shared.

International Youth Photography Contest 2023

Entries are invited for Youth Photography Contest 2023 by UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.


Eligibility
 The contest will be open to youth, ages 16 to 30, from anywhere in the world. Each individual can submit no more than three photos for consideration. 

Prizes
There will be two prizes. 
One photo selected by the committee will be featured on the cover of SDSN’s millet cookbook. 
A second ‘People’s Choice Award’ will go to the photo with the most likes. Winners will be announced via Twitter and Instagram in September 2023. 

How to Submit?
Submissions will be received on Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtags #IYM2023 and #MyMillet, and tagging @UNSDSN. Each submission must include a caption with (at minimum) the location (e.g., Bangalore, India) and the name of the millets (e.g., finger millets).

Essay Writing Competition for Arunima Magazine of NCW

In pursuance of the National Commission for women Act,1990, the National Commission for Women (NCW) was constituted on 31st January,1992, as a Statutory Body to safeguard and promote the rights and interests of women. It actively participates while discharging their mandated responsibilities for the development of women through seminars, webinars, consultations, hearings, meetings and conferences with various Government, Social, Private Organizations, Stakeholders, Police Department and many other organizations etc.


Taking another step in this direction, the National Commission for Women is publishing an Annual Hindi Magazine ‘Arunima’. Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women decided to include the views of graduate and post graduate students studying in various colleges/universities on topics related to women to make the magazine multifaceted.

Thus, National Commission for Women in collaboration with MyGov is hosting ‘Essay Competition' for the graduate and post graduate students and inviting them to contribute their opinions on the below mentioned topics:
1. Issues related to women
2. Solution for women related problems
3. Economic Empowerment for Women - Women Entrepreneurs
4. Mental and intellectual development of women
5. Women Led Development

Technical Parameters:
1. The language of the submitted Essay should be Hindi and should be typed in Unicode font only.
2. Essay should reflect original thinking and presentation and should only be on the above-mentioned topic.
3. The length of the Essay must not exceed 2000 words.
4. Participants must submit his/her name, course, college name, address and mobile no. etc in the description box. Mentioning the Author’s name /email etc., anywhere in the body of the Story will lead to disqualification.

Poster Making Competition for Students

Entries are invited for Poster Making Competition 2023 being organised by Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), Ministry of Commerce. 



Categories
Age group 12-18 [Hand-made poster]

General
Topic for poster making is “Digital Piracy”
Each individual can submit only one piece of work in the relevant category, and the
work should be his/her original work. Drawing, painting copied from the internet will not
be encouraged and not considered.
The artwork must not represent national flag, any particular individual, organization, or
brand name and must not depict any religious theme.
A poster containing any form of potentially offensive material or otherwise inappropriate
for public display will be excluded from the competition.
Artwork incompatible with the guidelines will not be considered. 

Dimensions & Content
Poster can be horizontal or vertical, measuring A3 Size.
Acceptable tools for poster making colour pencils, crayons, oil pastel, sketch pens,
water colour, oil paint, acrylic etc.
Digital poster should be submitted as a 300 dpi JPG or PDF.

Submissions must be made online with duly filled registration form at cipamadmin@gov.in
Hand-made poster also to be send to CIPAM at address mentioned below.
A short description of the poster explaining or adding depth to the content.
Maximum file size is 25Mb.

HBCSE Mathematical Olympiad 2023-24

The first stage of the programme will be called the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) organized by the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (India). This will be a three-hour examination consisting of 30 questions with each question having an integer answer in the range 00 – 99. 

The second stage will be an Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), TIFR. This will be a four-hour examination consisting of six questions with proof-based answers. 


In the 2023-2024 cycle, the selection to the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) will be accomplished in three stages.

First stage exam
Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 
The IOQM is being conducted by the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (India). More details about the IOQM will be announced in the first week of July 2023 on the MTA(I) website https://www.mtai.org.in/.
Date: September 3, 2023  Time: 10:00  to 13:00 hours (IST)
Duration: 3 hours
Total marks: 100
The answer to each question is an integer in the range 00-99. No negative marking. OMR-based exam.
Composition of the paper: 10 questions of 2 marks each; 10 questions of 3 marks each; 10 questions of 5 marks each.

Second stage exam
Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO)
Date: October 29, 2023; Time: 13:00 to 16:00 hrs
Duration: 3 hours
Number of questions: 06
Each question requires writing detailed proof.

Third stage exam
Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO)
Number of questions: 06
Date: January 21, 2024;  Time: 12:00 to 16:30 Hrs.
Duration: 4.5 hours
Each question requires writing detailed proof.

Eligibility
Students born between August 1, 2004 and January 1, 2011, and studying in Class 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12, are eligible to write IOQM 2023. Please note that NO student born after January 1, 2011 will be allowed to write IOQM 2023.

All students aspiring to participate in the international mathematical Olympiads must appear in the first stage examination, the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM)

Last date for student registration for IOQM 2023 has been extended to August 5, 2023.
