PROJECT 'ASSIST'


Project Assist is the Flagship scheme of National Foundation for Communal Harmony  (NFCH) an autonomous organisation under Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India.
Objective:
The main objective of providing assistance for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of the child victims of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence, with special reference to their care, education and training besides promoting communal harmony, fraternity and national integration.
Eligibility criteria:
 A child becomes an orphan or destitute in the sense that either both the parents  or the surviving parent or the main bread winner is killed or permanently incapacitated because of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence.
 The annual income of the victim’s family does not exceed rupees one lakh.
 Child is not receiving any assistance on regular basis from any other source (one time financial assistance provided by state government /union territory administration for such victim is not considered as another source of assistance for this purpose).
 Assistance is admissible up to the age of 25 years. However, if a child remains for more than 3 consecutive years in a class he / she will not be eligible to get the assistance.

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION
I. The NEET (UG) Entrance Examination shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). 
II. The duration of paper would be 03 hours.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(i) Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG)
(ii) He/She has completed age of 17 years  at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st  December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course.
(iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Government, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the State of  Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this  upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
(iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/           Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.  In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General 
Candidates.  Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. 
Those who are appearing Class XII examination in 2013 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

 Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE. 
 Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website  www.cbseneet.nic.in.  The duration of submission of application form, without late fee and with late fees is given in FEE DETAILS/LAST DATE.  Instructions for submitting online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout to be sent to CBSE are available on website.  
 Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner:
 Through Debit/Credit Card/Internet Banking using online gateway payment facility, or 
 Depositing in CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank directly or depositing in CBSE Account with e-Post Office by downloading the Challan Form from the website of www.cbseneet.nic.in.

RESERVATION OF SEATS & ADMISSION IN MEDICAL/DENTAL COLLEGES
1. An All India merit list and State wise merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to

01. 02. Size: 1/4th or ½ of the drawing sheet (11 x 14 inches and 14  x 22inches size). Other sizes are not accepted.

Centre for Cultural Resources and Training - Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2013


The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme aims at providing facilities to outstanding young children to develop their talents in various artistic fields. Children in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional art forms are eligible for the scholarship.

The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) provides 520 new scholarships each year, out of which minimum 5 seats each are reserved for all the states and at least 3 each for all the Union Territories. Minimum 10 scholarships are reserved for the state of Jammu and Kashmir also. While awarding scholarships preferences are given to children of families practicing traditional art forms. Special emphasis is given to rare arts and crafts which are becoming extinct.


BASIS OF SELECTION :-
Children in the age group of 10-14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional, performing and other arts are chosen for the scholarships.
The outstanding children in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture and crafts are selected for the award of scholarships. Special emphasis is given to rare art forms, which are in the process of becoming extinct.

Children whose date of birth is in between 01.07.1999 and 30.06.2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for the award of scholarships for the year 2013-14. 


General Instructions
Minimum three years' training in the field of art form in which scholarship is being applied, either with a guru
or in an institution is essential.
Students applying for Performing Arts are required to submit a certificate from the Guru/teacher imparting training, clearly mentioning the details regarding the training received by them alongwith the Bio-data of the  Guru/teacher as per the prescribed format in the application form . 
Students applying for Painting must attach three (03) specimens of their latest work (either original or photograph) and those in Crafts, Sculpture etc. should attach three photographs of latest work, duly attested by their Guru/teacher alongwith the Bio-data of the Guru/teacher. 
Gurus/Parents are requested to ensure that their wards possess certain level of proficiency in the field while applying.  Not more than three (03) students of a Guru/Institution will be considered for award of  scholarship at a time keeping in view the large number of applications received and limited number of scholarships available in each field.  If more than one Guru/teacher is working in the same Institution, then also only three (03) applications of that Institution will be considered for award of scholarship.  Only those applicants, whose names are recommended by Central Selection Committee, will be informed about the date, timings and venue of the interview/test by post only, which may be held during the months of May-July 2013 at Regional Level.  
The candidate must apply only in one subject/field in which he/she is confident because only one scholarship could be availed under the scheme. All applications of those, who apply in more than one subject/field would be rejected straight away.
Students in folk, traditional and indigenous art forms should mention in Column No. 7 of the application form,  the exact name of the art form and also the State/Ut, where it is practised. Students in traditional art forms,  crafts traditions facing extinction and belonging to  families practising traditional performing arts are given preference. They have to enclose a brief write-up to justify their claim for consideration in this category, otherwise their candidature will be considered in general category. 
Incomplete applications and those without relevant information and documents/specimens/ photographs regarding training will not be considered. Those who are already receiving the scholarship from CCRT or any other Institution should not apply again either for new scholarship or for extension. A scholarship holder shall not receive any other cultural scholarship/stipend in case he/ she is selected for CTSS Scheme, without the prior approval of the CCRT.

Human Rights Day - Elocution Competition

Institute of Parliamentary Affairs in association with Human Rights Educational Club is oragnising an Elocution Competition for the school and college students in connection with Human Rights Day.
The competition will be organised in two levels. The first level will be held on 10 November 2012 at Thiruvananthapuram (South Zone), Ernakulam (Central Zone) and Calicut (North Zone). The ten selected students from each zone will compete at the district level competition to be held on 8 December 2012 at Thiruvananthapuram.
The fist two prize winners from each category at district level will get certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 5000/- and  Rs. 3000/-  respectively.

ISEA, DietY invites applications from 8th to 12th standard students across the country to participate in a Painting & Drawing Competition at State and national level Schools. The competition is organised by C-DAC Hyderabad.

Acer Incredible Green Contest encourages students at all level to create green-centric applications to generate innovative and sustainable solutions embracing energy saving, carbon reduction, ecological conversation, and other environmental issues. The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC)

The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) is a contest in India, open for students of engineering, MCA, and other IT-related courses. We’re in our ninth year now and have grown steadily over the years. Recognized by the Limca Book of Records as the largest technical contest for students, 2 yeas in a row!, TGMC has grown in the number of students wanting to take part in it from a mere thousand since it started to 200000 in 2011 alone.

Eligibility
Any current college student in India with basic IT skills can participate. For example, students from IT, computer science, BCA, MCA, BSc, MSc, BE, B.Tech or M.Tech, colleges can participate. There is NO restriction for students from any discipline to participate.

NHFDC SCHOLARSHIPS For DIFFERENTLY-ABLED STUDENTS



National Handicapped Finance  and Development Corporation (NHFDC), for and on behalf of Ministry of Social  Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India,  invites applications from Students with Disabilities for award of  Scholarships under the Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund) :-
  
· Under this scheme, 1000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with   disabilities for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India.
· 30% scholarships will be reserved for girls, which will be transferable to male students in case of nonavailability of female candidates.
· Applicants may apply any time in academic year for scholarship under this scheme. Scholarships  will be awarded  on  quarterly basis for the applications received in preceding quarter. Under this  scheme, an  advance copy of application should also  be submitted  online  (www.nhfdc.nic.in)  by the candidate.lie by the candidate. 
· Reimbursement of Non-Refundable fees restricted to the limit of fee of similar courses in Government/ Government –aided institutions. Maintenance allowance will be paid to the students for 10 months @ Rs. 2500/ per month for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional PostGraduate Courses in one academic year. 
· Books/Stationery allowance will be paid to students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses @  Rs.6,000/ per annum and Rs.10,000/- per annum for pursuing  Professional Post-Graduate Courses.
· Visual and hearing impaired students in addition will be provided financial assistance for  purchase of aids & appliances (only once during life time).
· Monthly  income of the beneficiary /parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.25,000/- (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.)  from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
· A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the course.

 Applicant has to apply online (www.nhfdc.nic.in)  for scholarship before 30.09.2012 and scholarship shall be awarded once in a academic year under this scheme. Applicant has to submit hard copy of the application duly recommended by the head of the institution.
 Scholarship of Rs.1000/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.700/-p.m. for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs.700/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.400/-p.m. for day scholars pursuing Diploma/Certificate level professional courses. Course fee reimbursed upto ceiling of Rs.10,000/-per year.
 Financial assistance can be given for computer with editing software for blind/deaf graduate and post graduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for cerebral palsy students.
 Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.15,000/ - (Rs. 1.80 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
 Scholarship holder under this scheme will not concurrently hold any other scholarship/stipend. If already any other scholarship/stipend awarded, the student is required to exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same.

Wildlife Week Competitions - Photography Contest

The Forest and Wild Life Department is organising a forest-wildlife photography competition during the Wildlife Week celebrations.

Prizes:  First: Rs 5,000, Second: Rs 3,000 and Third: Rs 1,500.

Photographs taken in the forests in Kerala on the themes forest and wildlife may be sent. The prints should be in 30x20 cm size. 

A person can send more than one entry. Along with the photograph, send a brief description on the details regarding the camera, place where the photograph was taken, time and date, negative/CD of the photograph, telephone number and full address of the photographer.

No markings or address shall be inscribed on the photograph. Officials with the Forest Department should not participate in the competition. Entries may be sent to the address, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Wild Life), Forest Headquarters, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Entries shall be received till September 30.
