PROJECT 'ASSIST'

Project Assist is the Flagship scheme of National Foundation for Communal Harmony  (NFCH) an autonomous organisation under Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India.
Objective:
The main objective of providing assistance for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of the child victims of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence, with special reference to their care, education and training besides promoting communal harmony, fraternity and national integration.
Eligibility criteria:
 A child becomes an orphan or destitute in the sense that either both the parents  or the surviving parent or the main bread winner is killed or permanently incapacitated because of communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence.
 The annual income of the victim’s family does not exceed rupees one lakh.
 Child is not receiving any assistance on regular basis from any other source (one time financial assistance provided by state government /union territory administration for such victim is not considered as another source of assistance for this purpose).
 Assistance is admissible up to the age of 25 years. However, if a child remains for more than 3 consecutive years in a class he / she will not be eligible to get the assistance.

National Level Essay Competition on Green India

Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore is organising a National Level Essay Competition on  Green India.

Topic: Biotechnology assures a clean green India

Rules and Regulations
1. The essay competition is open for the 11th/12th/PUC students only
2. The essay should  be original (sentences/phrases from the internet to be avoided)
3. Registration fee Rs. 100 per entry. Payment by DD in favour of The Principal,  Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore - 77 should be sent along with the registration form and the essay
4. Essay should be in A4 size sheet and manuscript form only
5. Essay should be attached to the registration form which can be downloaded from http://www.kristujayanti.com and by clicking on the link GREEN INDIA
6. An institution can send maximum 20 entries
7. Essay should reach us on or before 20th January 2013
8. Participants should not write their names or any personal details that identifies them on any of the material used to prepare the essay
9. The essays will be judges by a panel of experts and the winners list will be uploaded on the college website on 5 February 2013

42nd UPU Letter Writing Competition 2013

The Department of Posts will organise the 42nd UPU Letter Writing Competition 2013 for school going children on 6 January 2013.
Children up to 15 years of age as on 31.03.2013 can participate.

Subject: "Write a letter about why water is precious"

Content and form: Composition should be presented in the form of a letter and do not exceed 800 words length on the given subject.
Date and Time: Sunday 6 January 2013 10:00 am to 11:00 am
Languagage: English or any language listed in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India
Last Date for submission of forms: 26.12.2012

Prizes:
One First Prize : Rs. 2000/- and certificate
One Second Prize : Rs. 1500/- and a certificate
One Third Prize: Rs. 1000/- and a certificate
Consolation Prizes: Rs. 250/- to the best entry from each Postal Circle and certificates

The best entry at the national level shall qualify as the Official Indian entry for the International level competition.

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION
I. The NEET (UG) Entrance Examination shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). 
II. The duration of paper would be 03 hours.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(i) Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG)
(ii) He/She has completed age of 17 years  at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st  December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course.
(iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Government, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the State of  Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this  upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
(iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/           Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.  In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General 
Candidates.  Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. 
Those who are appearing Class XII examination in 2013 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

HOW TO APPLY
 Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE. 
 Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website  www.cbseneet.nic.in.  The duration of submission of application form, without late fee and with late fees is given in FEE DETAILS/LAST DATE.  Instructions for submitting online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout to be sent to CBSE are available on website.  
 Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner:
 Through Debit/Credit Card/Internet Banking using online gateway payment facility, or 
 Depositing in CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank directly or depositing in CBSE Account with e-Post Office by downloading the Challan Form from the website of www.cbseneet.nic.in.

RESERVATION OF SEATS & ADMISSION IN MEDICAL/DENTAL COLLEGES
1. An All India merit list and State wise merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to 
MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the Existing Reservation Policies.
2. All admission to MBBS/BDS courses within in the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
3. All other existing eligibility criteria for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges Shall be applicable as per Rules and Policies of the State/UT/Institutions/University Concerned.
