So we have picked the top competitions that are open to students like you.
1. Green Olympiad
Green Olympiad is India's best quiz contest on Environmental Science and is open to foreign students also. It is organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a research institute in New Delhi that specializes in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. The GREEN Olympiad is endorsed by UNESCO, CBSE, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The examination is generally held on two dates, in August -October
Students of class IV to X enrolled in a school affiliated to recognized educational board or trust are eligible to appear for the Green Olympiad.
GREEN Olympiad is a written examination. It comprises of multiple choice questions that test students' knowledge, application and analytical skills; and simultaneously spreads awareness on various topics related to environment.
Winners at global, country, state levels and top performing schools win cash awards, mementos and special discounts on TERI publications, products and services. Moreover, all participants and coordinating teachers receive certificates.
2. Wild Wisdom Quiz
Wild Wisdom Quiz organised by WWF India started in 2008 as an opportunity to sensitize students towards India's rich biodiversity and natural heritage.
The winners of Wild Wisdom Quiz 2019 get to go on a fabulous, exclusive trip with WWF wildlife experts to a National Park/ Nature Reserve in India, with trophies, medals and prizes for top performers at each level of the quiz! Every participant gets a certificate and free access to 6 Wild Wisdom Nugget e-newsletters filled with exciting quizzes.
The School Level quiz is conducted during July - August. Registration till July. Primary School (Class 3 - Class 5) & Middle School (Class 6 – Class 8) can participate.
The National level winners will represent India in the international level contest.
3. TERRE Olympiad
TERRE Olympiad is an initiative of TERRE Policy Centre to make our youth empathetic towards environment.
There will be three categories - Sapling Category(Students of class 5th to 9th), Plant Category (Stundents of class 10th to 12th) and Tree Category(Undergraduate Student)
Students participating in the competition should be affiliated, registered or recognized by the State or Central education boards or any International board school or college.
The prizes include laptop, tablet, hard disks, pen drives, gift hampers and trip to national park/wild life sanctuary.
First level conducted in August - September.
4. CBSE Heritage India Quiz
CBSE Heritage India Quiz is an Inter School Quiz that was conceptualized by the Board in 2001 with the objective of promoting interest and desire among students to learn and appreciate the history, tourism and sharing the vast cultural heritage of our country.
Registration to be done through school by November. Online test will be conducted in November. Each school will be represented by a team of three students who may be selected from classes IX-XII.
5. Technothlon IIT Guwahati
Technothlon is an international school championship organized by the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati. The championship is organized over 2 rounds:
1. Prelims: a written preliminary examination which takes place in numerous schools all over India in the month of July. Prelims is in general an objective written exam. It involves no syllabus or general knowledge and relies solely on the student's logical and analytical thinking abilities.
2. Mains: an event based competition which is conducted at IIT Guwahati, among the top 100 students from each squad. Mains is an event based competition. It is conducted during "Techniche", the Techno-Management Festival of IIT Guwahati, held during the first week of September.
Students participate in teams of 2.
There are two squads:
Junior Squad - Students of classes 9th and 10th
Hauts Squad - Students of classes 11th and 12th
The interested students can register themselves for the examination online or offline.
6. The Hindu Young World Quiz
This multi-city, mega quiz, one of the largest in the country is being conducted in many cities across India. The Hindu Young World Quiz will be normally conducted in the following cities:
Coimbatore, Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Trichy, Mangaluru, Hubbali, Kozhikode, Salem
The quiz contest will have two categories: Juniors (IV – VI Std) and Seniors (VII – IX Std).
Registration can be done by paying cash or cheque at The Hindu offices or online. Normally spot registration can be done on the day of the event at the venue.
7. FIITJEE Science Quiz
Science Quiz is FIITJEE’s earnest efforts in the essential cause of exposing the student community to the developments in all the important fields of Science & Technology. The quiz is being organised online from 2018 onwards
Students of Class VI to X can participate in this contest.
The 2018 edition of Science Quiz is completely digital and spread over almost 6 months with league rounds for 5 months and a grand Finale in comparison to previous years. The 2018 edition has lots more exciting prizes to be won by young science enthusiasts.
8. The Hindu STEP English Olympiad
The Hindu STEP English Olympiad is India’s first and most comprehensive English Olympiad. These tests are developed in association with Cambridge English Language Assessment, a department of the University of Cambridge, UK which is a premier institution that sets the standard for English proficiency across the world. Specially tailored for school students, it tests their reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary skills using best-in-class technology, content and testing techniques.
The Olympiad is open to school students of Class III to VIII
All participants will receive a Participation Certificate.
All participating students and schools will get a rank, and each student will get a detailed report on strengths and weaknesses.
The entire country will be divided into regions and top 3 students in each region will get rewards and certificates.
Certificate of Recognition for a school if 50% of students who participated are in the top 20 percentile.
9. Clash of Pi: Online Inter-school mathematics challenge
Clash of Pi is designed to simulate real world conceptual tests and to benchmark students based on their mathematical aptitude. The future of Mathematics is right here! Students compete against their peers from the world’s best schools.
The Olympiad is open to school students of Class III to XII
Any school with greater than 100 participants may register as a team
