Great Minds Competency Council Olympiads

Great Minds Competency Council, an organisation providing education, training and organizing conferences and contest focused on student's knowledge and skill development and situated in Chennai,Tamil Nadu.
GMCC conduct competitive examinations and contest for the school and college students and designed in the manner to explore the hidden potential of the students thus nurturing their knowledge and skills.
Great Minds Competency Council is managed by professionally qualified people with guidance and support of field experts on the advisory board.

Students of classes from UKG to IX are eligible to participate. The medium of contest in English & Hindi.

Great Minds Student’s Aptitude Test (GMSAT) is a National Level Competency Program to test the student’s knowledge and skills in English, Maths and General Knowledge.

The program is developed based on the principle of Develop – Test - Evaluate – Knowledge – Skills (D' TUKS). The GMSAT is designed in such a way to test the competency level of the students to build their future. It’s neither a Contest nor Competitive exam. GMSAT is truly incorporates the innovative method to test student’s capability and competency level.

GMSAT is an “Open Book Examination” and every student is free to choose the resources and reference materials to respond the questions. No multiple choices to select the answers. There is no test center. The students are given ample time and an opportunity to refer the resources and get guidance from their parents and their peers to submit the answer sheets within the time period.

Students of classes from UKG to IX are eligible to participate. The medium of test will be in English only. 60% of questions are set on the common syllabus of CBSE.

There will be a separate question paper for each class. The question paper is divided into 4 parts. The first three parts consists of 45 Objective questions and the last part is subjective consists of 2 questions.

English Grammar Skill - 15 Questions

Mathematical Ability - 15 Questions

General Knowledge - 15 Questions

English Writing Skill - 2 Questions

The test is evaluated for 50 marks. All objective questions carry 1 mark each and the subjective question carries 2½ marks each. 25% negative marks for the wrong answers in the objective questions.

Science and Maths Competency Program (SCIMATS) is a test on Science and Maths subjects. SCIMATS provides an opportunity to the students to test their knowledge and also provides insight of the subject.

Students of classes from UKG to IX are eligible to participate. The medium of test will be in English only. 70% of questions are set on the common syllabus of CBSE.

There will be a separate question paper for each class. The question paper is divided into 4 parts. The first part consists of Objective questions and the last part is subjective. The first three parts consists of 45 Objective questions and the Subjective part consists of 2 questions.

Subjective - Science - 2 Questions

GMGKO Question Pattern

UKG & I Std. – 30 objective questions with multiple choice answers.
II Std. to IX Std. – 30 objective Questions and 1 subjective question to test their IQ in General knowledge

GMGKO Syllabus

UKG & I Std. – Plants, Human Body, Animals, Transport, Sports, Culture, Great Leaders, Etiquettes and Moral values.
II Std. to IX Std. – Indian History, Culture, Sports, Indian & World Constitution, Science, World History, Current Affairs, etc.

Great Minds High Order Thinking Skills Program

We are the FIRST in introducing the GMHOTS – a Competency cum Holiday program for the students.
To make the students’ holidays more interesting, an educative, playful and knowledgeable,
we proud in launching “GMHOTS – Great Minds High Order Thinking Skills” a competency development program with combination of questions from selected subjects oriented with High Order Thinking Skills.

GMHOTS is a Competency development program organized globally for Indian Schools. It is an “Open Source Module” and every student is free to choose the resources and reference materials to respond the questions.

Why GMHOTS

GMHOTS, charge students to actively engage with content and concepts. Student’s understanding of concepts becomes internalized as they evaluate, synthesize, analyze, and apply information. Instead of simply memorizing facts and ideas about the subjects, HOTS provides an opportunity to the students to engage in higher levels of thinking to reach their fullest potential.

GMHOTS Eligibility Students who are pursuing U.K.G to IX in coming academic year are eligible to participate. The medium of test will be in English only. HOTS is based on common syllabus of CBSE, CISE and other State Boards. There will be a separate question paper for each class and there will be 10 questions covering the subjects. The test is evaluated for 50 marks.

GMHCT – Great Minds Hindi Competency Test is an International Program to test the competency skills in Hindi language.

GMHCT is a combination of Objective and Subjective questions. Students of classes from UKG to IX are eligible to participate.

The questions will be in English and the students have to provide answers in Hindi.

GMHCT Question Pattern:

UKG & I Std. – 30 objective questions with multiple choice answers.

II Std. to IX Std. – 45 objective Questions and 2 subjective questions

The test is evaluated for 100 marks. The objective based questions carries two marks each and the subjective carries five marks each.

GMHCT Syllabus

UKG & I Std. – Plants, Human Body, Animals, Transport, Sports, Culture, Great Leaders, Etiquettes and Moral values.

II Std. to IX Std. – Synonyms, Antonyms, Fill in the blanks, Grammar, Formation of sentences and paragraph writing.
