Online Painting and Letter Writing Competition

Delhi Postal Circle, Department of Posts invites students to paint and pen down their thoughts in the Painting cum Letter Writing Competition, on any one of the themes mentioned below. The world has been battling COVID-19 for a very long time now and we have all been transformed by this unforeseen calamity.

This Painting and Letter writing competition provides an opportunity for students to express their thoughts and share their views on the COVID-19 pandemic and related concerns. The event, we hope, will be a small step towards strengthening our resolve to emerge stronger and face the challenges more effectively.

This competition is for students of Delhi/NCR only

Eligibility:

Students from recognized schools of Delhi NCR in the following categories are eligible to

participate:

• Class I - V (only painting)

• Class VI - VIII (Painting and Letter)

• Class IX - XII (Painting and Letter)

Themes for letter and painting:

• COVID-19: Staying at home and its challenges

• COVID-19: Corona warriors

• COVID-19: How the poor and the weak have been affected?

• COVID-1 9: New ways of learning in pandemic times

• Humanity and Community in the age of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Prize (in each category):

• 1st Rank: Rs. 15,000 + Certificate of participation

• 2nd Rank: Rs. 1 0,000 + Certificate of participation

• 3rd Rank: Rs. 5,000 + Certificate of participation

• Consolation prize (2): Rs. 2,000 each + Certificate of participation (2 Nos)

• All participants are entitled to receive participation certificates.

Submission Guidelines:

• Painting and write up should be original creation of the participant.

• The letter maybe addressed to any person to whom the participant wishes to write.

• Content from internet not allowed, the entry will be summarily rejected.

• The letter about the painting should be in HINDI/ENGLISH only.

The word limit for the LETIER is)

700-1 000 words for Closs VI - VIII

ii) 1 000-1 500 words for Closs IX - XII

• The pointing should be a high resolution photo in ".JEPG" format [upto a maximum of 10MB] and letter should be only in ".pdf" format.

• No participant con make more than 1 submission/entry.

• Upon submission of the pointing and the letter, the Deportment of Posts will hove the exclusive copyrights to them and the participant will not be able to submit them to any other platform. The best paintings may be considered for reproduction in a set of Special Covers to be released by Delhi Postal Circle, Deportment of Posts at its discretion.

• The pointing could be in ink, water colour, oil colour or any other medium (computer printed/ printout will not be allowed). The design submitted should be such as con be depicted on the special cover in a visually appealing manner so as to be of interest to philatelist/ collectors. Participants ore free to use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of white paper of A4/ A3 size.

• The submission should include the name of the participant, contact number, email id, copy of identity cord issued by school. ID cords issued by the school in 2020 as well as 201 9 will be regarded as valid.

• The files hove to be saved in the following manner ONLY - Full Nome of PARTICIPANT, EXAMPLE - if the name of the participant is ARVIND KUMAR, the files should be saved as arvindkumor.jpeg (for pointing) & arvindkumor.pdf (for letter).

• All submissions must be sent to delhicirclephilately@gmail.com. The subject of the e-mail should be "Painting & Letter Writing Competition_ {Name of the participant)".

• Original paintings have to be submitted by the winners upon declaration of the result.

The body of the mail shall indicate the following:

• Name and class of the participant

• Gender

• Dote of Birth

• Nome of the school

• Residential Address

• Mobile Number

• Email id

Important Dates:

• Lost date for submission: 15th December, 2020

• Declaration of result: 15th January, 2021 (Tentative)
