Shaastra presents the first ever Shaastra Junior Chess Tournament] (SJCT) - a successor to its annual flagship event - Shaastra RAPID FIDE rated Chess tournament which has successfully completed 4 full editions each of it being a huge success, witnessing participation of 500+ across the world including 30+ Grandmasters and IMs. SJCT aims to create an environment for enthusiastic and bright young minds to compete amongst the best for the championship, and promote the wonderful game which enhances and tests the thinking and problem solving skills of the players.

Mode of Conduction: Chess.com
Participants will need to provide their Chess.com usernames during registration.
Day 1 (Date: 24.10.20 || Time: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM): Elimination Round - Estimated for a duration of 1-1.5 hours, participants will compete in an Arena Tournament format. The time control of the match will be around 2 minutes+1 second.
Day 2 (Date: 25.10.20 || Time: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM): Finale Round - The top 24 from the elimination round will proceed to battle it through to the championship. They will be divided into groups of 6 where the top members will qualify for the Semifinals, followed by the Finals. This is estimated to be 1-1.5 hours.
Eligibility
Must be currently studying in school – Class 12 or below. 2020 Pass outs are not eligible to participate
