Beat the Leader Rules
The test can be taken in any one of the popular programming languages, including C, CPP, C#, Java, PHP, Python or JavaScript.
Read the code carefully and find issues to improve it. The code may either have a logical bug or negative case failure or any runtime exception.
Your submitted code is evaluated on the basis of marks, attempts, time complexity, memory usage, code size, etc. It is, then tested against the most optimized solution for the previous day and other submissions for the day. The most optimized solution that is derived after evaluation, wins.
Most optimized code of the day will be the "input" for the candidates competing the next day. You will need to submit a solution better than the "input" to be the winner of the day.
You can improve your code multiple times in Beat the Leader.
You can copy the provided solution after selecting your preferred language and paste it into the coding editor and debug in order to maximize your score and performance.
The most optimized code at the end of 10 days will become the eventual "Leader".
"Winner of the day" will be announced the next day at 12:00 PM.
Ranking Criteria for Tiebreaker
Problem 1 (Time taken in Submission): Developers are ranked according to the total score. Developers who have the same total score are ranked by least total time. Here total time is the sum of time consumed for each problem solved. The time consumed for a solved problem is the time elapsed between seeing the problem statement to the submission of the first accepted solution.
Problem 2 (Early Submission): In case two developers have taken same time then whoever hits the leaderboard early, will be ranked higher.
Hackathon Rules
This contest will have 3 levels Screening round, Online Hackathon and Offline Hackathon.
Maximum two attempts are given in screening round. The higher score of the two attempts will be considered as the final score.
On that basis of the screening-round, the user will be selected as a leader and become eligible to form a team with other members to participate in the hackathon.
You can have 1-3 members in your team. You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.
During the online hackathon, you can participate any where.
Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack. Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems or frameworks.
You can submit as many times as you want. The last hack will be considered as the final submission.
