CBSE Essay Writing Competition

Our country achieved freedom because several leaders during the pre-independence era made supreme sacrifices. It is time to pay homage to all those leaders who renounced their lives to turn despondency into a ray of new hope. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Lala Lajpat Rai were two such great sons who tried to reawaken the common people to fight for India’s freedom.

On the occasion of the birthdays of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Lala Lajpat Rai on 23rd January and 28th January respectively, CBSE proposes Essay Writing Competition to be held in schools between 21st to 28th January 2015. The details of this competition are as follow: 
· Topics will be announced at www.cbseacademic.in on 20th January 2015
· Essay Writing to be organized by schools for classes V-VII between 21st to 28th January 2015
· Essays (500 words) in any of the 22 scheduled languages and English may be written by
interested students
· Only best five entries from each school may be submitted to CBSE on 29th January 2015
from 9.00am to 9.00pm by using i) online links to be made available on 29th  January 2015 on www.cbseacademic.in or ii) through Mobile Phone (see Annexure I )
· Each entry should be as per the format given in Annexure 1A
· The entries received from schools shall be given a Certificate of Merit
· 36 best entries will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 2500/- and a Certificate of Excellence
· Prizes will be finalized after plagiarism check and telephonic interaction, therefore each entry should clearly carry the identification and contact details and valid e-mail IDs.
