Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025: A Nationwide Innovation Movement
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, has announced the launch of the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025. This nationwide initiative is designed to inspire innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among school students, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
About the Buildathon
The Buildathon aims to mobilise 1 crore students across more than 1.5 lakh schools to ideate, design, and develop prototypes. Students will work in teams to address challenges under four key national themes:

Vocal for Local – promoting local products and resources

Atmanirbhar Bharat – building self-reliant systems and solutions

Swadeshi – fostering indigenous knowledge and innovation

Samriddh Bharat – creating pathways to prosperity and sustainable growth

Launch: 23 September 2025 by the Hon’ble Minister of Education

School-Level Activities: 23 September – 12 October 2025

National Live Buildathon: 13 October 2025, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister with simultaneous student participation across the country

Submission of Entries: 14 – 31 October 2025

Recognition: Top 10,000 entries will receive national recognition, mentoring, and opportunities for corporate adoption
Who Can Participate?

Teams of 5–7 students from Classes VI–XII are eligible.
-
Schools can register multiple teams.

Entries must be submitted as photos or videos of student projects through the official Buildathon portal (link to be shared separately).
Support and Recognition

Students will receive guidance from mentors, including experts from higher education institutions, incubation centres, and corporates.

A special focus will be given to schools from aspirational districts, tribal regions, frontier villages, and remote areas.

The top teams will be celebrated nationally and offered long-term support from corporate partners.
