Event Description
Reflections on a Book is a less formal piece of writing, reflecting the thoughts and opinions of a reader after reading a book and aims at providing academic knowledge. It is an analysis and discussion based on personal opinion which allows one a chance to connect to and engage with reading critically. Writing it entails maintaining an informal and subjective approach while maintaining an organized and coherent structure. A good reflection should meet quality standards of clarity, precision, correctness and conciseness.
Guidelines
· The reflection paper should not be just a compilation of personal thoughts rather it should reflect critical thinking. The participant should analyze the book, synthesizing its content and evaluating it to determine his/her attitude or perception of it.
· Elaborate the understanding of main ideas by demonstrating how one reached the conclusions after reading the book citing specific examples from it.
· It should meet quality standards of clarity, precision, correctness and conciseness.
· Focus on the ideas, quality of information, language accuracy and linguistic competence and style while writing the reflection paper.
· Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Word Limit is 200 Words in pdf form only.
· The participants will have to visit the website ( http://eltaiteachersday2020.in/ ), register themselves and upload the pdf file there only.
Guidelines for the Final Round
· Based on the presentations, 15 shortlisted participants will have to present their reflections in a video conferencing session on 4th September 2020 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
· The participants will present their Reflection Papers for 2 minutes followed by 2 Minutes of Q&A.
· The shortlisted participants will be updated about the details of the online session through their emails/SMS. Winners will be announced at the end of the session.
Road Map
Registration and submission of reflection papers: 22nd to 28 th August 2020.
· 15 shortlisted participants will have to present their reflections through video conferencing on 4th September 2020.
