Solo Singing Competition for Teachers – Gandhi Jayanti Week 2024

Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mumbai, in collaboration with Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya, invites school teachers (Mumbai) to participate in a Solo Singing Competition on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. This event will take place during the Gandhi Jayanti week on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024, at 10:30 a.m..

As in previous years, this event aims to honor the spirit of Gandhiji through devotional music. We look forward to your school’s enthusiastic participation in making this event a grand success.

Competition Rules:

  1. Languages: The competition will be held in Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati. All three language categories will be judged together.
  2. Song Type: Only devotional songs are allowed (film songs are not permitted).
  3. Participation: Each school can send only one teacher to participate.
  4. Language Selection: Each teacher can select one language for presenting one song.
  5. Time Limit: The performance should not exceed 5 minutes.
  6. Accompanists: A maximum of three accompanists is allowed per participant.
  7. Accompaniment: Gandhi Smarak Nidhi will provide only a harmonium.
  8. Prizes:
    • There will be three prizes.
    • If fewer than ten entries are received, only two prizes (1st and 2nd) will be awarded.
  9. Judges’ Decision: The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
  10. Song Submission: Participants must submit a copy of their song at Nidhi’s office on the day of the competition.
  11. Entry Submission: Entries should be submitted on your school’s letterhead or via the enclosed entry form, and must reach Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Mumbai by Tuesday, 24th September 2024.
