Celebrating Courage and Community Through Art
In a bold effort to combat substance use and promote mental well-being, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) Painting Challenge. This initiative, part of the nationwide campaign to create a drug-free India, invites artists across the country to showcase their creativity and commitment to the cause through the medium of painting.
About the NMBA Painting Challenge
Launched on August 15, 2020, NMBA initially focused on 272 vulnerable districts but has since expanded its reach to impact over 12.71 crore individuals nationwide. The campaign addresses the multifaceted issues of substance use by coordinating prevention, treatment, and community awareness initiatives. To further its mission, NMBA has partnered with MyGov to host a Painting Challenge that encourages artists to illustrate the importance of courage, resilience, and peer support in the fight against substance use.

The theme of this year's painting contest is "Folk Art and Storytelling."
