UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme - 2018

The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transition.

In line with the strategy and objectives of the approved UNESCO Programme and Budget for the Fellowships Programme Section, the UNESCO Category II International Center for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow (Russian Federation) is offering twenty (20) fellowships of four weeks (4)  duration each in 2018.

Field of Study
One month duration: from 1 to 26 October 2018.

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) : 

(a) Energy and sustainable development; 
(b) Ecological management of energy resources; 
(c) Renewable energy; 
(d) Sustainable and renewable energy power generation

Qualifications Required
Candidates must meet the following criteria: 

(a) Holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics; 
(b) Proficient in English language; 
(c) Not more than 35 years of age;


Procedures on Submission of applications
(a) All applications should be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO and must be duly completed in English or French with the following attachments in DUPLICATE:

• The prescribed UNESCO fellowship application form; 
• Six photographs; 
• Certified photocopies of Diplomas; 
• Certificate of English Language proficiency; 
• Subsequently, for those who have been selected, the UNESCO medical examination form duly completed by a recognized physician (not more than four months before the actual date of studies). The prescribed form of which will be sent along with the letter of award. Expenses incurred in the constitution of the medical dossiers will not be reimbursed.
(b) Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for the submission of applications and candidatures, and do not fulfil the requirements mentioned above, will not be considered. 
(c) Each invited Member State is requested to nominate not more than two (2) candidates.

Times and Trends Academy (TTA) "Meri Pehchan" Scholarship for Designing Career

Meri Pehchaan is a scholarship offered by Times and Trends Academy (TTA) for young aspiring students who desire to have highly paying careers that they aspire to.

Meri Pehchaan:

Under Meri Pehchaan scholarship scheme, a student will be eligible to avail a scholarship on courses (for domains mentioned below) offered at Times and Trends Academy. The selected student will get a scholarship of 30%-100% waived-off on the tuition fees. Times and Trends Academy (TTA) will offer a financial aid of 30%-100% on the tuition fees. This scholarship is offered to help students build their careers.

3 students will be selected under the scholarship for the following domains:

Criteria for Meri Pehchaan scholarship:

10th or 12th score has to be 65% or more

This scholarship is eligible for all the students from Designing, Finance and accounts and Animation institutes and 10th or 12th students. Times and Trends academy will pay 30% – 100% on tuition fees of the shortlisted students.

The scholarship is offered on tuition fees and ranges between 30% and 100%.
The scholarship offers are subject to Times and Trends Academy (TTA)’s policies. The academy holds the rights to change the terms or even terminate the scheme.

Summer Research Fellowship Program IISER 2018


Applications are invited for the IISER Mohali Summer Research Program 2018. Selected students will be able to spend 2 months at IISER Mohali during the summer in order to work on specific summer projects with IISER Mohali faculty. The principal objective of the program is to provide exposure to research  methodology and a research environment to bright students. This exposure to excitement in different scientific fields is expected to motivate them to take up careers in science.

Eligibility
Students o fBSc (Second Year/Third Year), MSc (First Year) or equivalent 

Schedule: The summer program will run between May 15 2018 and July 15 2018. The exact starting dates are flexible to some extent. Selected students are advised to contact their supervisors and fix up a starting date. However, a student's stay at IISER Mohali should include the period between June 1- June 30 2018.

Duration: The minimum period of summer research is one month and the maximum period is two months.

Fellowship: Students will receive a fellowship of Rs. 5000.00 (Rupees Five Thousand only) per month. Students will also be paid second class train fare for their journey to IISER Mohali and return.

Accommodation and food: If necessary, IISER Mohali can provide accommodation and food at IISER Mohali student hostels on payment basis. The application can be completed through an online form

IGCAR Summer Training in Physics and Chemistry, STIPAC 2018


Indira Gandhi  Centre for Atomic Research  is conducting  a six week Summer Training Programme in  Physics (STIP-18) and Chemistry (STIC-18) for students  entering their final year of regular or integrated MSc (Physics/Chemistry). (Students completing MSc in 2018 should not apply.)

This six week long programme will comprise of both theoretical lecture courses and hands-on laboratory experience through projects. This programme is aimed at motivating  the students  to pursue a career in research. The theme for this year’s course is

Twenty five students  will be selected in each discipline. The selected students  will be provided a stipend of Rs. 4000/- per month and their travel expenses by sleeper class train will be reimbursed. Accommodation on payment basis will be arranged.

Eligibility: A consistent good academic track record with a First Class in BSc and First Semester of MSc and with a strong desire to take up research career.

Interested students need to prepare a write-up on the topic “Electromagnetic Radiation and its application in Scientific Research”, in their own words, and not exceeding 1000 words.

Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) programme

Applications for the third year of the CMGGA Programme, open now!


The CMGGA programme is a strategic collaboration between the Government of Haryana and Ashoka University to train and facilitate the most promising and passionate young men and women of the country to work with the state machinery and tackle some of the complexities that face the country today.

Run under the aegis of the Hon. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the programme combines youth and academia to create momentum and intellectual feedback from the ground level at the CM’s office. Designed as an experiential programme, CMGGA recruits young men and women to work with the district administrations in Haryana as representatives of the Chief Minister of the state.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Ashoka University, India’s leading liberal arts and sciences university. According to Vineet Gupta (founder and trustee of Ashoka University), the CMGGA programme is an opportunity for young students to experience public life with the chance to work with the Government and create maximum impact in their one year.

After two successful years of the programme, applications are now open for the third cohort of The Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates programme and following are some of the key information about this year’s application procedure.

Eligibility Criteria


-       Applicant should not be older than exactly 28 years of age on 15th July 2018 (that is, you should be born on and after 15th July, 1990) in order to be eligible for the programme.

-       Applicant should be an Indian Citizen to qualify for the Programme.

-       Applicant should be fluent in English and Hindi.

-       Applicant should have completed her/his undergraduate degree along with at least one year of full-time work experience after graduation OR applicant should have completed a postgraduate degree or diploma in any discipline by June 2018.

The application to be selected for the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates programme is a completely online process and there are no paper forms to complete. There is no fee for the application.

After successful login, you will be able to access the application form. Apart from the sections about Personal Details, Educational and Professional Qualifications, this year, the application also requires a written and a video essay. ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Duration and Location

The duration of the program will include a 2-week orientation period, followed by a further period of one year. The Associates will be placed in district headquarters and state headquarters of Haryana.

 Remuneration

Associates receive a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month, including Rs. 5,000 for communications and office expenses such telephone, internet, printing, stationery, etc. Applicable taxes will be deducted at source from this amount. In addition to the monthly stipend, travel costs will be reimbursed to a maximum of Rs. 30,000 per month. Accommodation in the assigned district and in Ashoka University during all training periods will be provided to all Associates.

Modus Operandi

After a two-week intensive training period, the Associates are posted in each of the 22 districts of Haryana for a 12-month period, where they work on statewide project modules as a cohort as well as smaller district-level projects. The Associates interact regularly with the Chief Minister, directly presenting to him their work and recommendations for impact across different Government schemes and departments, and drive impact at the highest and lowest levels of the Government.

Founded by Harvard and Oxford alumni, Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) creates transformative learning experiences that build the capacity of young people to lead change in society.

YLAC programs take students outside the realm of what is conventionally taught in schools and universities. Our modules are designed to enable participants to develop a better understanding of the society they live in and the challenges that it confronts. The aim is to help participants broaden their perspective, draw connections across disciplines, hone their leadership styles and put learning into action by engaging in live projects. Policy in Action

The Policy in Action Program is a project-based four week engagement for university students and young professionals who are keen to explore the fields of public policy and development. The program is designed to deliver core skills in policy analysis, advocacy and public leadership, along with the experience of working on live projects for Members of Parliament. With a mix of weekend sessions and remote collaboration, the program schedule is easy to accommodate alongside regular university and work commitments.

Counter Speech Fellowship

Aimed to be an incubator for the future generation of leaders, CEOs, campaigners and activists, the YLAC Counter Speech Fellowship with Instagram engages exceptional teen leaders to voice their opinion on themes important to young netizens around the world. Launched in 2017, the fellowship is currently running in two cities – Delhi and Mumbai.

SYMBIOSIS PRE UNIVERSITY PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS OF CLASS X - XII

The Symbiosis Pre University Programme is an educational programme that offers 10th/11th & 12th standard students an opportunity to cut through the confusion associated with choices regarding their 'after 12th' educational programmes.This programme gives participants a college experience, introduces them to the academic programmes, disciplines, and culture of Symbiosis International University and offers professional guidance on career choices, study habits, and college preparation skills.

The programme is divided into the 4 categories. The first three categories are compulsory for all students. In the fourth category, students can choose any one of the clusters available

Academic Skill Development (20 hours): Students will learn critical skills of reading, writing, learning, time management and research. This component will be designed and taught by SIS.

Career Counselling / Guidance(20 hours): Workshops and individual sessions will help students learn about academic options, career prospects, aptitudes and abilities, and personal career priorities.

Sports & Wellness (20 hours): The University Sports Board of Symbiosis International University will offer modules on sports, yoga, meditation, fitness & wellness

WILDERNESS CAMP - 4 DAYS
Our wilderness camping programme is a hands-on introduction to the skills and knowledge necessary to live through a short-term wilderness survival situation.

Campers will gain in-depth experience in basic wilderness first aid, back country camping, hiking, river crossing, rappelling and for doing some of the elements on our ropes course. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn shelter-building and survival skills. You will also learn map and compass orienteering skills as you trek through the famed Butterfly forest at Papathy Shola, the famous Mathikettan Shola National Park and through the mountain ridges at Chaturangapara.
