Slogan Writing Contest - National Road Safety 2021
More than 13 Lakh people lose their lives every year from traffic accidents, and that number has been slowly rising. In India alone, this number stands at a massive 1.5 Lakh people per year.
This not only affects the people involved in the accident directly, but also their loved ones, and the people that know and depend on the victim. Road safety is an important issue that demands attention. To raise awareness and minimize such accidents from occurring, Indian Road Safety Campaign is hosting a Slogan Writing Competition.
How do you sum up an important message in three or four words? That is where slogans come into play. Road safety slogans are imperative to remind individuals to adhere to traffic rules. The slogan can be written in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam and Odia. These slogans will then be used to promote road safety in a creative manner.
Poster Making Contest - National Road Safety 2021
Posters as a type of visual art have become an important tool for advertising and promoting a plethora of causes. It is in fact a scientifically proven fact that posters have the potential to effectively expand knowledge, change attitudes and alter behaviors. When 17 lives are lost every passing hour in India owing to road crashes and close to 150 wild animals die due to the carelessness of the one on the driving seat, it would be a relevant measure to utilize the creative thinking and aesthetic skills of young artists across the nation especially in propagating the message of road safety to the masses.
In light of this, warm welcome to all the budding artists to participate in this Poster-Making competition and use your creative minds to create art that inspires. So, pick up your art supplies, turn on your graphic tablets and create breathtaking posters on the theme!

The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Apart from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), in which India is participating since 1989, since 2015 India have also started participating in two more international Olympiad events: the Europen Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) and Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO). The process for selection of students for participation in the events have been merged, taking into account the requirements of the individual tests.
Eligibility:
Candidates born on or after August 1, 2000 and studying in Class 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 are eligible to write PRMO 2019. Further, the candidates must be Indian citizens. Provisionally, students with OCI cards are eligible to write the PRMO, subject to conditions as explained below:
As per the orders of the Madras High Court, students with OCI status will not be eligible for selection to the Indian team in the International Mathematical Olympiad. However, such students are provisionally eligible for selection at ALL prior stages, up to and including the IMOTC provided they fulfill all other criteria. This policy is subject to revision without prior notice depending on any further orders issued by the courts, or by a competent Government authority.

School Registration
Schools can register as “registration centres” for PRMO at this link: https://mtaexam.com. (registrations will start soon) In order to register students individually or in groups, the registration centres will collect the exam fees from the students from any school and register them at the portal. The fee will be Rs 230.00 for each non-KV and non-JNV student. The registration centre will retain Rs 20.00 (to be used for making student lists and printing admission tickets) and remit the balance of Rs 210.00 to MTA. There will be a reduced fee of Rs.125.00 for each KV and Rs.100 for each JNV student. For such students, the registration centre will remit the entire amount (Rs.125 or Rs.100) to MTA.
All KV and JNV students have to register through their schools to avail the reduced fee.
The PRMO exam portal will be open from June 1 to June 30 for centre registration. The centre registration closes on June 30, 2019.
The PRMO exam portal will be open from June 1 to July 7 for student registration through registered Centres. Registered centres should start registering students from June 1 to avoid last minute rush.
Non KV and Non JNV students can also directly register for the PRMO exam through the portal. Such registration will be provisional and subject to verification by a designated registration Centre. The link for direct student registration will be available from July 1 to July 7, 2019.
Student Registration
Students can approach one of the approved “registration centres” in the list of approved centres which will be updated on the website and register through them for the PRMO exam between June 15 and July 7, 2019 for a fee of Rs 230.00 (and reduced fee of Rs.125.00 for KV and JNV students). Optionally, non KV and non JNV students can also register directly from the portal between July 1 and July 7, 2019 (see para 10 above.) However they must complete the verification process through a designated registration centre.
Selection to RMO
From each region, the top (up to) 300 students from Classes 8, 9, 10, 11 and the top (up to) 60 students from Class 12 will be eligible to write the Regional Mathematics Olympiad exam. For the KV, JNV schools which have a countrywide coverage, the number to be selected is up to 5 per cent from Classes 8, 9, 10, 11 and up to 1 per cent from Class 12, of the number of registrations.
Students studying in non-KV and non-JNV schools affiliated to CBSE will belong to their respective geographical regions.
The list of students who qualify for RMO will also be announced on the HBCSE website.

Stages of Mathematics Olympiad
Stage 1:
The first stage examination, the pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO) is a two and half hour examination with 30 questions. The answer to each question is either a single digit number or a two digit number and will need to be marked on a machine readable OMR response sheet. The PRMO question paper will be in English and Hindi.
Sample PRMO questions and Sample OMR sheet showing marked answers can be downloaded from below
Queries regarding PRMO may be sent by email to mtaprmo@gmail.com Queries will not be replied to individually, but via the FAQ section on this website.
Stage 2:
The second stage examination, the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) is a three hour examination with six problems. The RMOs are offered in English, Hindi and other regional languages as deemed appropriate by the respective Regional Coordinators. The syllabus may be found here. The problems under each topic involve high level of difficulty and sophistication.
Stage 3:
The best-perfroming students from the RMO (approximately 900) qualify for the third stage – the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). The INMO is held on the third Sunday of January at 28 centres across the country.
Stage 4:
The top students from the INMO (approximately 35) are invited for the fourth stage, the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) held at HBCSE during April to May. At this camp orientation is provided to students for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Emphasis is laid on developing conceptual foundations and problem-solving skills. Several selection tests are held during this camp. On the basis of perfromance in these tests six students are selected to represent India at the IMO. Resource persons from different institutions across the country are invited to the training camps.
Stage 5:
The selected team undergoes a rigorous training programme for about 8-10 days at HBCSE prior to its departure for the IMO.
Stage 6:
The Olympiad programme culminates with the participation of the students in the IMO. The students are accompanied by 4 teachers or mentors.
All KV and JNV students have to register through their schools to avail the reduced fee.
