Lies & Cover-Ups: Time to Make Tobacco Pay
The 2021 Global Media Competition organized by the Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC), a partner of STOP, a global tobacco industry watchdog, seeks compelling visual designs that portray tobacco industry’s tactic of using deception to undermine health policies and escape liability.

Tobacco kills 8,000,000 people each year, costing the world’s economy US$1.4 trillion annually. Through its lies and deception, the tobacco industry has perpetuated a pandemic by undermining government efforts to protect public health. To date, it has yet to pay for the harms it has caused.

For its second year, the Global Media Competition (GMC) will welcome entries in the form of posters, short videos, and infographics that convey how the tobacco industry conceals, covers up, and misrepresents the enormous burdens it has placed on people, the environment, health systems, and the global economy.



Eligibility

This competition is open to everyone. Participants below 18 years old are required to submit a parental/guardian consent form. Please send the consent form to ggtc@ggtc.world.

2nd International Children Art Exhibition of Small Format 15×15

Children and young people between 4 and 18 years of age are entitled to participate. Pre-school institutions, primary, secondary and high schools, citizens’ associations, children’s cultural centers, art studios and similar institutions or organizations can participate in the competition. Individuals can participate separately.

The dimension of the work is  15х15cm.
Topic of the Competition: Give me wings for a round“

 Age Category
– I category 4-7 years;
– II category 8-10 years;
– III category 11-14 years;
– IV category 15-18 years;
– V category High Art Schools 14-18 years.

Institutions and organizations can send from at least 10 to maximum 30 art works by various authors within a group participation. One author can be represented with up to 2 art works. Individual participants can send up to 2 art works.

Two-dimensional works on paper which are made by using different drawing, painting and graphic techniques are allowed. Works must not be equipped, framed, laminated or of smaller or other dimensions. Three-dimensional works, works that contain organic matter and the works sent in rolls will not be received.

It is mandatory to have an adhesive label with data on the back of each art work. It is necessary to send a completed Application by e-mail and a printed copy by post with students’ works. Individual participants fill in a separate Application and label.  Foreign participants fill in the Application and the label in English (including the countries of ex Yugoslavia – Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia). For domestic authors see propositions on Serbian language.

Participation is free, no entry payment.
The cost of sending the works is paid by the contestant.

Awards
The expert jury will select up to 1000 of the most successful works and will award and praise authors in each age category. The jury will award art educators for outstanding artistic contribution and the most successful collection of works.
Organizer will send diplomas in form of JPG file to all selected exhibitors by e-mail.

The competition is open from March 15 until June 21, 2021.
Works must arrive at the latest on June 25, 2021.

GMHCT is a combination of Objective and Subjective questions. Students of classes from UKG to IX are eligible to participate.

The questions will be in English and the students have to provide answers in Hindi.

GMHCT Question Pattern:

UKG & I Std. – 30 objective questions with multiple choice answers.

II Std. to IX Std. – 45 objective Questions and 2 subjective questions

The test is evaluated for 100 marks. The objective based questions carries two marks each and the subjective carries five marks each.

Sports Talent Hunt Kerala State

If you have been nurturing the spirit of sports within you, we are here to help you bloom into accomplished sports personalities. Finding the right talent for the right event is a daunting task with our potential players hidden in the remotest regions of the State.

Towards this, the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has been conducting a yearly talent hunt among children from 2019 across the State. With an intake margin of 390 students at the GV Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram, our team visits the various corners of the State as well as district headquarters and put to test the sporting skills of young talents in various sports streams. The talent hunt for the year 2020-21 was concluded in February, 2020 with nearly 12,500 participants from all over the State.

Summer Immersion Program (FUSIP) Flame University

FLAME University announced a Summer Immersion Program for high school students.
The programme will be held in the beautiful campus of the University, situated in Pune, in the month of May and of 2-week duration, this program offers high school students an opportunity to experience life in a liberal education University campus while strengthening their skills though a mix of exciting academic and non-academic modules which provides a basis for a strong foundation to succeed in college and beyond.

The curriculum is inter-disciplinary, delivered in a framework that embraces the spirit of liberal education at FLAME University. A spirit that places special emphasis on critical thinking, research, engagement with diverse ideas and perspectives, while inculcating the values of leadership, teamwork and effective communication.

The academic modules have been designed to be contemporary and relevant, with content and delivery that goes beyond what is covered in a traditional high-school classroom. Special focus will be placed on honing of team work and leadership skills. Young students have the opportunity to experience residential life in the University with access to all its facilities that makes FLAME unique.

4.  Every Article must contain the list of references at the end of the Article in alphabetical order.
5. All references in the Article must conform to the bluebook 19th Edition. 
6. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of 2 authors.
7. Authors submitting Article in co-authorship have to write names of both Authors and one email ID of either Author in the Form while submission.
8. The name(s) of the author(s), E-mail id, Mobile number and the name of Institution shall be mentioned after the title of the Article and before the beginning of the main text.
9. The submission must not be previously published or currently under review at any other journal/conference/book etc.
10. The submission must be the original work of the author(s) i.e. shouldn’t be plagiarized and also should be free from grammatical, spelling and other errors. It must also not contain any defamatory words.
11. Plagiarism is permitted to the maximum extent of 15%. (Less plagiarism will be appreciated).

UNESCO Clubs 2021 Worldwide Youth Multimedia Competition

UNESCO, the U.N. organization that brings grass roots initiatives in Education, Science, and Culture, invites youth around the world to take part in this year’s Multimedia Competition.  The natural optimism and unparalleled connectivity put youth one of the greatest positions to bring much needed change to the world. UNESCO’s mission is to mobilize youth to purposefully use their talents to serve others now,  ensuring even greater impact on the future to come.

Submission Guidelines

Participants: 
Juniors - ages 10-14;  Youth - ages 15-19; and Young Adult - ages 20-24

A 3-minute video, multimedia presentation, 500-700 written essay, art work or any method that channels a specific passion that answers the prompt 

Dates:

The contest starts February 21, 2021 and the final deadline is May  31, 2021. Judging will take place and final winners will be announced July 1 2021.

Question:

COVID-19  has tested Human Solidarity like nothing before. Based on your research, knowledge and experience, develop and submit, a Multimedia proposal/project that describes the lessons we have learned and how those lessons will shape our future. For example, our future in education, employment, development, or social aspects.

Entrants should respond in English by making a 3-minute multimedia production, 500–700-word written essay, artwork, or any method that channels a specific passion in answering the prompt. (Translations or subtitles for projects not submitted in English do not have to be perfect.)

Prizes:

The three finalists in each age group will receive an official plaque engraved with their name and a certificate. They will have an invitation to UNESCO’s Builders of the Universe Camp held at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, USA. The invitation will include a scholarship for the fee for the camp, food, accommodations, and transport to and from the airport. Airfare is not included.  There will be a special ceremony held for contest winners at the camp.  In addition, the top 9 winners will be recognized and showcased in global events during the year. This is a tremendous opportunity for youth to build leadership skills, learn how the United Nations conducts itself, and meet youth from around the world.  Winners will be publicized on July 2021 on USFUCA and UNESCO websites.
