The International Chemistry Competition is an accessible and globally connected program that allows students to engage with modern chemistry topics and scientific research. Participants work on challenging problems that test their understanding, analytical thinking, and creativity.

Competition Structure
The competition takes place in three stages, each designed to test different aspects of scientific ability.
Qualification Round
The first stage is the Qualification Round. In this round, students solve five chemistry problems covering different topics and levels of difficulty. Participants are allowed to collaborate during this stage, which encourages discussion and exploration of ideas. The submission deadline for this round is 29 March 2026.
Semi-Final Round
Students who successfully qualify move to the Semi-Final Round. This stage is conducted as a supervised or digitally monitored examination. Participants are also required to read and understand two real scientific research papers, introducing them to modern chemistry research and academic literature.
Final Round
The Final Round is a globally conducted, digitally monitored exam. Participants answer questions covering major fields of chemistry. The exam is held on a unified global exam day, and the results determine the international and national prize winners.
Prize Pool and Awards
The competition offers a total prize pool of 1500 USD distributed across three categories: Junior, Youth, and Senior.
In the Senior category, the first prize is 250 USD, the second prize is 175 USD, and the third prize is 125 USD.
In the Youth category, the first prize is 200 USD, the second prize is 150 USD, and the third prize is 100 USD.
In the Junior category, the first prize is 175 USD, the second prize is 125 USD, and the third prize is 100 USD.
Along with these prizes, winners receive international medals for first, second, and third places.
Recognition and Certificates
Recognition is an important part of the competition. All participants receive official digital certificates acknowledging their participation.
High-scoring finalists are awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze Honours depending on their performance. In addition, the best participants from each country receive national honorary certificates, allowing students to gain recognition at both national and international levels.
Special awards are also available for outstanding teachers, schools, and student representatives who support and promote the competition.

Eligibility
The International Chemistry Competition is open to high school and university students from all over the world.

The Youth category includes students in Grades 11 to 13 who are typically between 16 and 18 or 19 years old. The Senior category is for university-level students aged 19 and above.
Although all participants solve the same problems, the qualification thresholds differ for each age group.
Flexible Participation
The competition is designed to be accessible for students globally. Only basic equipment such as paper, pen, and internet access is required to participate.
Students can also submit their solutions in multiple supported languages available on the competition website, including English, German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, and others. This allows participants from diverse linguistic backgrounds to take part comfortably.
