YLAC India - Young Leaders for Active Citizenship - Boot Camp

The YLAC boot camp is a one of a kind program, designed and curated to enable young adults to become active agents of change in their communities. It is meant to give them an opportunity to reflect deeply about their identity, to broaden their perspective and to arm them with skills to affect change in their immediate contexts. It is also designed to give them an early exposure to liberal arts and to introduce them to some emerging career options in the discipline.

The 21 day program will be anchored by Rohit Kumar (Alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School of Government) and Aparajita Bharti (Alumna of Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University). The program will introduce participants to the theoretical underpinnings of democracy and the welfare state, engage them in live projects with partner NGOs and provide an opportunity to interact with an eclectic mix of speakers from diverse backgrounds.

YLAC invites participation from promising young adults (grades 9th-12th) who have a keen interest in making a contribution to the broader society. Please visit our applications page to apply to the program.

The first boot camp is scheduled to begin on the 5th of June 2016 (Sunday). It is designed to be a mix of exercises, lectures, site visits and group work. The boot camp will include a two week supervised internship in an organization to be chosen by the participant from among our NGO partners. The detailed schedule can be accessed here. The boot camp will conclude on the 26th of June 2016 (Sunday).
