The Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest is an annual contest for young photojournalists aged between 18 and 33 years old. It is Russia’s only platform for discovering new photojournalists and for allowing them to make a name for themselves on the world photojournalism stage.
To develop and improve professional photojournalism in Russia and around the
world.
Objectives
Eligibility
To perpetuate the memory of Andrei Stenin, a Russian journalist and Rossiya Segodnya photo correspondent who was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage for the bravery and heroism he demonstrated in the performance of his professional duties.
To support and promote high standards of photojournalism and documentary photography in Russia and around the world.
To promote photography and raise public awareness about photojournalism.
To support young photographers.
The Contest is open to Russian and foreign nationals who are professional
photographers. The age limits for Contest Participants: at least 18 and no more
than 33 years old at the time of the Contestant’s submission of Photo Image(s) to
the Contest.
The Contestant may submit only one Photo Image (Series of Images) in each
category.
Entry for the competition is free of charge. Determination of the Winners and
Runners-up of the Competition is not accidental. The Contest is not a lottery.
Contest categories:
1. Top News.
2. My Planet.
3. Sports.
4. Portrait. A Hero of Our Time.
The first, second and third place prizes will be awarded for a single Photo Image in
each category and for a Series of photo images.
A Grand Prize shall be awarded for the best Contest Entry among Contest
Participants in all categories, to be selected by a majority vote of the Jury.
In the event that no Photo Image submitted to the Contest complies with the
Contest Rules, Winners and Runners-up will not be selected.
The Jury may award Honorable Mentions to not more than three Photo Images and
not more than three Series in each category
Apart from the main Contest categories, Users can vote online for Contest Entries of Winners, Runners-up and Photo Images awarded an Honorable Mention. A Contest Participant who gets the most User votes receives a Contest diploma
