In celebration of Wildlife Week 2024, the Kerala Forest Department (KFD) invites all nature enthusiasts and aspiring writers to participate in the Wildlife Travelogue Writing Contest 2024! This is an excellent opportunity to share your experiences and observations from your travels in Kerala's forests and wildlife areas.
Contest Details
Eligibility:
Open to all Indian citizens, regardless of age. Employees and immediate family members of KFD are not eligible to participate.
Contest Period:
Entries will be accepted from September 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. IST to September 30, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. IST. Late submissions will not be considered.
How to Participate:
- Entry Fee: None.
- Submission Method: Fill out the prescribed Registration Form and email your entry to wiwtravelogue2024@gmail.com. The Registration Form can be downloaded from KFD's Official Website.
- Theme: Your travelogue should be based on visits to any forest or wildlife area in Kerala.
- Entry Limit: Each participant may submit one entry, or two entries if writing in both Malayalam and English.
Specifications for the Travelogue
- Language: Written in either English or Malayalam.
- Format: Typed in font size 12 or more; handwritten entries will not be accepted.
- Word Count: Minimum of 750 words and a maximum of 3000 words.
- Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
- Photographs: Entries can include photographs, but must credit the sources and specify the travel destination.
- Submission Format: Entries must be submitted as email attachments in PDF or Word format. Co-authored entries will not be accepted.
Judging and Scrutiny
- All entries will be reviewed by the Divisional Forest Officer (South Wayanad) on October 1, 2024.
- Entries received after the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2024 will not be accepted and will be rejected without reason.
