KATHA UTSAV 2019

The twenty-first century needs creative and compassionate minds, and we believe that children have the potential to make a real change. The Katha National Writers' Workshop, culminating in the grand Katha Utsav is designed to draw out the creative spark in every child, and give them opportunities to develop their writing skills.



Submit your entries in either of the following genres: 
Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Poetry.
If you like to write enchanting fantasies, page-turning thrillers, avant-garde science fiction, or can chronicle non-fiction, or weave together a poem, then the Writers' Workshop is meant just for you! After an initial selection by an august jury of the online entries, the shortlisted candidates will get a chance to put their wits together with India's best literary artists and mentors, at the Regional and National Workshops.

Here's what you need to do!
    COLLECT! Stories from children under the genres of fiction,
    non-fiction, and poetry.
    PAY! Make a combined payment for all the students.
    DOWNLOAD! the template and fill in the details of each student.

Individual registration is also possible. Fee INR 150


Stages
 Stage 1: Story Upload - 150/-
The story will be uploaded digitally.

Stage 2: KATHA UTSAV 2019 - REGIONALS
Regionals will take place in four zones (North, South, East, West) of India where professionals in the field of writing, editing, journalism, storytelling, theatre etc; will mentor students selected from the first stage in a two-day workshop. At the end of the two-day workshop, each student will write a story/poem specific to his or her genre.
Selected stories will make it to the GRAND FINALE (nationals) in Delhi.

Stage 3: KATHA UTSAV 2019 - NATIONALS
GRAND FINALE is a three-day workshop for the students selected from the regional process. They will go through an advance mentoring process where each student will participate in the CHALLENGE GROUNDS, the top stories selected by the jury will get Katha National Writers' Workshop Certificate and will also win a chance to get their stories featured on Katha's digital platforms.

NOTE: For a five-day (two-day REGIONAL + three-day National) intensive training, each student pays 3000/- inclusive of all taxes.
Refreshment is available on each workshop day - inclusive in the workshop fee.
