National Level Competition for Students on Cyber Security

Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) is a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GoI initiative with an objective of capacity building in the area of information security, training of Government personnel and creation of mass awareness on   information security awareness targeted towards students, women, police and other user segments. The project is being implemented through Fifty one (51) institutions for academic activities (4 ISRDCs, 7 RCs, 40 PIs including IISc, IIT’s, NIT’s) and CDAC Hyderabad as a coordinating agency for Awareness program. A multilingual web portal www.isea.gov.in / www.infosecawareness.in has been developed with abundant multimedia content for various user segments by covering the various areas of the cyber security.

ISEA Announces National Level Drawing, Painting, Sketching, Cartoon Drawing, Essay Writing, Short Film, Animated Video, Poster Presentation, Popular Article and Technical Paper competitions on Information/Cyber Safety and Security Awareness

Objective: Objective to organize these competitions are to inculcate cyber hygiene among the Internet users

Who can participate:
A) The applicant must be a student upto 25 years old falling in any of the following three groups:

B) The entry to the competitions is Free
Groups
Group-I (ages 10 - 16)
Group-II (ages 17 - 23) (10+2) and Any graduate
Group-III (ages 20 - 25) Engineering/equivalent and Master Graduate

2.    Animated Videos - 2-3 mins

Awards (cash prize/gift vouchers/gift articles) :

Attractive prizes worth Rs. 5 (Five) Lakh across all categories and Groups
State Level and National Level Certificates for all the Prize winners
Digital Certificates will be issued for all the participants
Best Works will be published in Newsletters/Magazines/Websites
Timeline :

Last Date for submission of entries : 15th May 2020
The results will be displayed in our web portal infosecawareness.in. Winners of the competition will be intimated individually 

Guidelines for Drawing /Painting/Sketching/Cartoon Drawing category

The work must be on a flat piece of A3 size paper (any variety/quality paper) with 1 cm external border
Each individual can submit only one piece of work in each category, and the work should be his/her original work. Drawing, painting, sketching, cartoon copied from the copyrighted work/internet will not be encouraged
Acceptable tools for
Drawing: colour pencils, crayons, oil pastel, sketch pens etc.  
Painting: water colour, oil paint, acrylic etc.
Sketching:Only pencils (different numbered)
Cartoon: Any drawing tool
The artwork must not represent national flag, any particular individual, organization, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme
Artwork incompatible with the above guidelines will not be considered

Guidelines for Essay Writing :

Essays must be original and unpublished
Essays must be written by one person. Co-authored essays are not accepted
Essays must be written (hand written or typed) in English with no longer than 700 words but with a minimum of 500 words, excluding essay title
Essays incompatible with above guidelines will not be considered

Guidelines for Short Film and Animated Video:

This is a short film competition and hence ONLY Short Films should be submitted NO DOCUMENTARIES. The entries can be short live action or digital animation films too on the thematic areas
DURATION for Short Film: The film shall not be more than 5 mins including the beginning and end credits
DURATION for Animated Video: The video shall not be more than 2-3 mins
FORMAT: The films/videos may be shot in MPEG4 or AVI format. The recommended ratios are: 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in SDV / HDV
The film/video should: 1) Not depict any horror/conflicts  2) Not harm any living objects
RIGHT TO SCREEN: The participants shall grant the organizers (www.infosecawareness.in) the non-exclusive rights to screen the film/video entry on their respective websites, and other associated screenings
The short films/animated videos may be in their original language, but MUST be subtitled in ENGLISH
The film/video must not represent any particular individual, organization, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme
Participant should send the videos along with the source files of the video
Short videos/film not following above guidelines will be rejected

Guidelines for Poster Presentation :

The Poster should be 2ft by 3ft (Portrait)with high resolution
Only one submission per author is permitted. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors. It should be an original work. Work copied from internet/copyright will be disqualified
The poster must not represent national flag, any particular individual, organization, or brand name and must not depict any religious theme
The poster should include:
the paper title, all authors, Institute name, at the top of the poster
A brief introduction, goals, details, conclusions and references
Explanations for graphs, pictures and tables
The best two posters should be sent along with the source file
All the above guidelines should be followed by the participant, failing which the poster can be disqualified

Guidelines for Popular Article/Technical Paper :

Only one submission per author is permitted. Co-authorship is permitted to a maximum of two authors
The article/paper must be original and unpublished work of the authors. Plagiarized entries will be rejected. The article should not be under consideration for publication or in a contest elsewhere
Format: The article/paper should be typed in A4 size electronic page, Font type-Times New Roman, Font size-12, Line spacing-1.5, and justified with margins of 1 inch (or 2.54cms) on all sides. The footnotes must be typed in Times New Roman, Font size-10, Line spacing-1.0
Length of the Article:The article shall be one page to max three pages, no longer than 1200 words (minimum of 800 words), footnotes included. The article must have a title and an abstract of maximum 150 words
Length of Technical Paper:Written paper shall be four pages to max six pages excluding appendices and references. The paper should have an abstract of maximum 150 words
List of References and Abbreviations shall also be submitted along with the written article and should contain those cited in the text of the manuscript
Figures and tables if any should be numbered consecutively and should appear near the text where they are first cited. Captions of the figures and tables are to be given at the bottom and at the top respectively. Headlines of the sections and sub-sections should start from the left-hand margin
If an article/technical paper is not published within 6 months from the date of submission, we keep the article with the Institute for future publication, unless it is rejected
A scanned passport size photograph (at least, 600 dpi) of the author and in case of joint authorship of all the authors should also be mailed along with the soft copy of the article/paper
All the above guidelines should be followed by the participant, failing which the article/paper can be disqualified

Judgement of The Work :

The work will be judged by an expert committee based on the following criteria:
Originality- 30%
Creativity and Presentation- 40%
Relevance to the theme- 30%

Submission :

A copy of Student’s Identity-card should be attested and sent along with the work
From each school/college/institution, the collection of BEST TWO works in each category should be submitted as follows
for Drawing, Painting, Sketching, Cartoon and Poster making category - hard copy by postal mail
for Animated films and Short Video category - CD/DVD by postal mail or compressed video by email or video by whatsapp (9490771800)
for Essay writing, Poster presentation, Popular article and Technical paper category- soft copy (Pdf) as email attachment  
In email, mention the theme in the subject field
The work should be submitted along with a cover page indicating (1) Student’s name (2) Group (3) Category (4) Date of birth (5) Gender (6) Institution’s name (7) Address (8) E-mail (9) Phone number
The Teachers should also send the list of participants in each category from their school/college/institution by email to isea@cdac.in
A cover page template is available for download at infosecawareness.in or you can create your own cover page covering items cited in (1)-(9) above
