Ganga Quest is a national bilingual (Hindi and English) online quiz on Ganga being conducted by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), an authority under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India. NMCG has the mandate for the effective implementation of NamamiGange Program and Ganga Quest is under its Public Outreach activities.

TREE Craze Foundation (TCF), a not for profit organization committed to Ganga, Rivers, and Environment is its executive partner for Ganga Quest. The quiz is designed, conceptualized, and developed by TCF. Wildlife Institute of India (WII), a premier internationally acclaimed institute on wildlife research and management has supported TCF in development of question banks especially for biodiversity conservation theme. WII is also providing its publications in the knowledge kit being awarded to the first 100 participants. GIZ (The Deutsche The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH), a German development agency that provides services in the field of international development cooperation, is also providing the materials prepared under its 'Ganga Box' program for knowledge kit. Also, GIZ will organize knowledge activities through international experts for schools with maximum participation. The development and awards of Ganga Quest is sponsored by VA Tech Wabag, an Indian multinational company, pioneering in sustainable water solutions.

Eligibility
Eligibility: Any Indian citizen who is residing in the country and has attained the age of 10 years as on 31st March’2019 is eligible to participate in the contest.

The quiz will be available from the 22nd April 2019 to the 22nd May 2019.
All participants will be able to see the overall results of the quiz after the 30th of May

Rules
Rules
Ganga Quest 2019 is a multiple choice questionnaire having three rounds of 10 questions each. The first two rounds are the qualifying rounds, and winners are decided based on the performance in third round.

Round I: The Qualifying Round
There is no right or wrong answer in this round. Tarini Dolphin just want to capture what you perceive about River Ganga
There is no clock ticking to complete this round.
This has to be attempted just once to qualify for round two.

Round 2: The Knowledge Building Round
This round has 10 general questions on Rivers/Ganga.
To proceed to round three, The Decisive Round, one has to get all the 10 answers of this round correct.
For every right/wrong answer, you get to know some interesting facts related to the question by your companion Tarini Dolphin!
This round can be attempted multiple times till you get them all correct.
Please note that although this is just a Knowledge Building Round but, the performance of the participants in this round based on the no. of attempts taken to qualify/time taken for the last attempt, can be used as a tie-breaker for round three.


Round 3: The Decisive Round
This is the decisive round of the quiz, based on which the winners – “Our Ganga Champs-2019” will be decided.
This round gives the participants a choice to select any two subjects of their expertise out of the undermentioned eight themes
i. Historical and Cultural Significance of Ganga
ii. Flora and Fauna
iii. Current Affairs
iv. Physical geography
v. Famous places and personalities
vi. Livelihood
vii. Governance
viii. Socio-economic
This round offers just 1 attempt to each participant.
The clock here will be running fast
Winners will be selected based on the accuracy and time taken in this round

The correct answer and the explanation/facts for all the answers will be detailed in the report sheet after the round.

Top 3 to get Tablets, Certificate signed by Director General (NMCG)

All who have passed schools
Top 3 to get Digicam, Certificate signed by Director General (NMCG)

For Maximum Participation A trophy of Ganga Champions, an interactive session with international experts, and a certificate from Director General (NMCG)
