CBSE SCHOOLS FILM MAKING COMPETITION 2015 ON ‘THE MARVELS OF NORTH EAST INDIA’

In its attempt to stimulate students’ Creativity, Compassion, Critical Thinking, and cultivate an understanding of lives and experiences in other cultures, CBSE is focusing to promote awareness about culture and traditions of the people of North East India. The Board invites entries from the students of the schools affiliated to it for a Short Film Making Competition.
The short film can be in any of the 22 scheduled languages of India. Each entry must be accompanied by:
 duly filled form in all respects in the enclosed format attached
 appropriate clearances or certification of rights if required
 letter of attestation from the school Principal
 One copy of the film on DVD video in .avi format.
 Films shot on mobiles phones are also acceptable.
 Selected entries will be notified and screened at a suitable platform.

All entries shall be sent in a CD to Shri Sandeep Sethi, Education Officer, 3rd Floor, Room No. 301, Shiksha Sadan, 17, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi- 110002 latest by 20th February, 2015.
Kindly note that ‘No entry will be entertained after the due date’.

CBSE Essay Writing Competition

Our country achieved freedom because several leaders during the pre-independence era made supreme sacrifices. It is time to pay homage to all those leaders who renounced their lives to turn despondency into a ray of new hope. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Lala Lajpat Rai were two such great sons who tried to reawaken the common people to fight for India’s freedom.

On the occasion of the birthdays of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Lala Lajpat Rai on 23rd January and 28th January respectively, CBSE proposes Essay Writing Competition to be held in schools between 21st to 28th January 2015. The details of this competition are as follow: 
· Topics will be announced at www.cbseacademic.in on 20th January 2015
· Essay Writing to be organized by schools for classes V-VII between 21st to 28th January 2015
· Essays (500 words) in any of the 22 scheduled languages and English may be written by
interested students
· Only best five entries from each school may be submitted to CBSE on 29th January 2015
from 9.00am to 9.00pm by using i) online links to be made available on 29th  January 2015 on www.cbseacademic.in or ii) through Mobile Phone (see Annexure I )
· Each entry should be as per the format given in Annexure 1A
· The entries received from schools shall be given a Certificate of Merit
· 36 best entries will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 2500/- and a Certificate of Excellence
· Prizes will be finalized after plagiarism check and telephonic interaction, therefore each entry should clearly carry the identification and contact details and valid e-mail IDs.

 13th APR Scout Photo Contest for the year 2015 will be held in early March. 
The theme for this contest is "Impact of Scouting". Social impact is one of the six strategic priority areas of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The challenge of this contest is to be able to capture into images the impact of Scouting on individuals and communities.
 There will be six winners: One Gold, Two Silver and Three Bronze Awards will be presented at a major regional event to be announced later by the Asia Pacific Region.

Science Talent Search for school students - NSITE 2015

Nehru Science Innovation and Technology Expo (NSITE) is a technical mega event organised by Nehru Group of Institutions. NSITE offers a venue to showcase technical expertise of young aspirants in the fields of science and technology which entails events, games and technical competitions structured by various departments like ECE, EEE,Aeronautical, Civil, ME, CSE, IT, Automobile, Mechatronics, MCA, and AME.

In connection with Nsite “Science Talent Search” will be conducted in which High School and Higher Secondary Students can participate and exhibit their Science Projects. 

Registration will be free for all participants.

The winners of the competition will be awarded attractive cash prizes of Rs.25000, Rs.15000 and Rs.10000 for First, Second and Third places respectively.

We would like to honour the Institution providing best participation, on the basis of number of contestants and quality of project exhibited. From among the competing schools, fifteen schools will be ranked on the basis of the above mentioned criteria. The Head of the Institution will be given an opportunity to select the students for award of Nehru Vigyan Scholarship worth Rs. 1 Crore which will entail the student admission in Nehru Colleges and the qualified students will be exempted from tuition fee for their entire B.Tech course.  Three qualified students from the top five schools and one student each from the top ten school will be awarded scholarships. 

All 25 scholarships available will be for 2015 admissions to two Engineering Colleges each at Kerala and Tamil Nadu, under Nehru Group Institutions. Scholarship will be awarded only for one admission to each branch/programme per college under NGI. Principal/ Head Masters of the schools may recommend a student who qualifies the criteria mentioned below:

1. Principal, using his discretion may select one economically backward student who is meritorious and outstanding in his performance.

2. Allotment will be done based on the academic performance of the students with 80% minimum aggregate in plus two.

3. A merit list will be prepared from the recommendations based on their Plus Two marks.  The students should submit first, second and third choice mentioning College and Course.  The allotment to the colleges/courses will be purely based on the Merit list.

4. Students will have to qualify the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination to get admission in colleges under Nehru Group of Institutions, Kerala.

1. No registration fee

2. Maximum number of students allowable will be five.

3. Students must be Present in college on both days with their exhibits

4. The projects submitted must be original and recent works. The project must be certified by college authorities.

5. Judges will be eminent personalities from Academic / Industrial fields.

6. Decision of panel of judges will be final

7. Participant must carry Id-Cards/ authorization letter from head of the institution.

8. Certificate will be given to all participants.

9. Selection of best three Projects shall be based on innovative ideas and working model of the project.

10. The electrical supply will be provided. Any special requirement should be conveyed to the Convenor in due time and fulfillment will solely depend on Convenor.

RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards

The RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards is a national initiative that builds on RobinAge's position as the Voice of Children to encourage and support creativity in children.

The competition invites students from class 1 to 8 to send in their writing, poetry and artwork. The top three entries of each category and age group - as selected by a judging panel of premiere children's authors and artists - will win accolades, recognition and prizes. What's more, each participating student will get an e-certificate of participation.

Group A: Class 1 and 2
Group B: Class 3 to 5
Group C: Class 6 to 8
Last Date for Entries: February 28, 2015

Winner Announcement: April 16, 2015 (RobinAge's 7th Anniversary issue) 

To ensure children use their imagination, the competition is not restricted to themes or topics. Instead children can choose any subject and express themselves freely. 

Contest Rules:
  1. Only entries in English will be considered.
  2. Content sent to RobinAge is RobinAge property and can be reproduced at RobinAge's discretion.
  3. Children must obtain the permission of their parent/guardian in order to enter the contest.
  4. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each contest category for each age group. A total of 27 prizes will be awarded.
  5. The decision of the judges will be final. RobinAge will not entertain any questions regarding the judging process.
  6. Open to citizens of India only.
  7. Last date for entries: February 28, 2015.
