The Annual Art Exploration 2015-16

‘Small Hand Big Art’ is an initiative to promote Children’s Art and to provide an opportunity for children to take pride in their creativity. To focus the attention of children, parents, teachers and society towards looking at Art as a Way of Life and more than just a casual hobby

Small Hand Big Art runs the Annual Art Exploration to recognise children who have talent in Art. To exhibit their work at some of Premium Art Galleries in India providing a rare opportunity to be mentored by leading luminaries from the field of Fine art, Senior Artists, Senior Faculty members of leading Fine Art Colleges, Gallery owners, Art Curators and Critics, who facilitate career guidance for children at the age when it matters the most.

Highlights

  1. Entries will be collected through schools ONLY.
  2. There will be 4 category of participants based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years
  3. Prominent panel of judges from the fields of Art
  4. 150 winners across India- 25 winners each in categories A and B, 50 winners each in categories C and D
  5. Keeping pace with the Pulse of our nation, we propose the theme of 'Swachh Bharath'. This will encourage children to make a difference towards a 'Swachh Bharath',in their own small way. However, children are free to choose any theme of their choice.
  6. The Winning Art Works will be displayed at one of the premier Art Galleries in India.
  7. Top 150 Winners to get Cash Award of Rs 2000 each and Certificate of Merit. Winners of Category C and D will be invited to attend a sponsored Workshop in one of the most prestigious Fine Art Institutes of India.
  8. Category C and D Winners attending the workshop will be reimbursed a fixed amount towards expense incurred for travel to the workshop.

How to Participate:

  1. No need for formal invitation to schools and for application forms to be filled out
  2. Schools to conduct Small Hand Big Art’s Annual Art Exploration 2016 session during school hours on any day of their choice while event is Open
  3. ONLY those Art Work that has been made during Annual Art Exploration 2016 session conducted at school, should be sent to us.
  4. All Art Works need to be made on paper sheets of A3 size ONLY (29.7 x 42.0cm). No canvas paintings will be accepted.
  5. Keeping pace with the Pulse of our nation, we propose the theme of 'Swachh Bharath'. This will encourage children to make a difference towards a 'Swachh Bharath',in their own small way. However, children are free to choose any theme of their choice.
  6. Each student can submit a maximum of 3 Art Works.
  7. The entry fee for each Art Work submitted is Rs 150/-.Therefore fee for 2 entries would be Rs 300/- and for 3 entries would be Rs 450/-
  8. School to retain Rs 10 per Applicant towards following expenses incurred - Demand draft charges, Cost of A3 size paper provided to children and Speed Post charges. Therefore Rs 140 per Art Work has to be sent to organizers of Small Hand Big Art’s Annual Art Exploration
  9. Each Art Work to have the following details mentioned clearly at the back:
    • Name of School
    • Name of child
    • Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
    • Phone number of Art Teacher/ School
  10. School to send a printed list of all children who are sending Art Work along with following details:
    • Name of School, address and phone number of Art Teacher clearly mentioned on top of each sheet
    • Complete Name of Child
    • Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
    • Contact number of Parent
  11. School to make a Demand Draft for application fee collected (Rs 140 x Number of Art Work submitted), in favor of ‘KALAABUZZ PVT LTD' payable at Bangalore
  12. School to send all the Art Work and Demand draft - TOGETHER - in one single packet, to our address:

Please note:
  1. The packet should be dispatched by Indian Post Office -SPEED POST facility ONLY. No couriers will be accepted. SPEED POST accepts packets that are addressed to Post Bag numbers.
  2. All Winner Award Cheques will be issued in the name of the Child
  3. Art Work submitted to organizers will not be returned.
