CBSE Expression Series on ‘Education for Future Development’ on 24th December 2014

CBSE announces an Expression Series on ‘Education for Future Development’ on 24th December 2014.
Given below are the details of the series:

  • Participation is voluntary. Interested students of interested schools affiliated to CBSE may participate.
  • Age appropriate topics will be provided on CBSE academic website (www.cbseacademic.in) on23rd December 2014.
  • Open for the three categories: i) classes I-V ii) classes VI-VIII iii) classes IX-XII.
  •  Entries in the form of essays /poems/ anecdotes in 22 scheduled languages and English may be submitted on 24th December 2014 (from 9.00am to 5.00pm).
  •  Modes of submission: i) Links to be made available on 24th December 2014 on www.cbseacademic.in ii) through Mobile Phone (see Annexure I).
  • The format required for submission of entries through Mobile Phones is given as Annexure -1A.
  • Schools may be closed on the eve of Christmas holiday or for winter vacations, thus willing students may submit their entries from home either using online mode or through Mobile Phone.
  • 36 best entries in each category will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs.2000/-and a Certificate of Merit only after plagiarism check and interaction on the phone.
  • All participants with valid email IDs will be given online participation certificates

CBSE announced Expression Series son 'Good Governance' on 24-25 December 2014 on the occasion of birthdyas of Manamana Madan Mohan Malaviya and Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

  •  Open to all students of all school affiliated to CBSE or any recognised state board in the country
  • Topics will be provided on CBSE Academic website on 23 December 2014
  • Categories : Class I-V, Class VI-VIII and Class IX-XII
  • Entries in the form of essays/one act plays in 22 scheduled languages and English can be submitted on 24th and 25th December 2014 (from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days)
  • Modes of submission 
    • Online 
    • Offline (links will be provided on 24th December 2014 on CBSE Academic site and Whatsapp

44th UPU Letter Writing Competition 2015

The Department of Posts will organise the 44th UPU Letter Writing Competition for school going children on 4 January 2015.
Children up to 15 years of age as on 31.03.2015 can participate.

Subject: "Write a letter describing the world you want to grow up in"

Content and form: Composition should be presented in the form of a letter and do not exceed 800 words length on the given subject.
Date and Time: Sunday 4 January 2015 10:00 am to 11:00 am
Languagage: English or any language listed in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India
Last Date for submission of forms: 22.12.2014

Prizes:
One First Prize : Rs. 5000/- and certificate
One Second Prize : Rs. 3000/- and a certificate
One Third Prize: Rs. 2000/- and a certificate
Consolation Prizes: Rs. 1000/- to the best entry from each Postal Circle and certificates

The best entry at the national level shall qualify as the Official Indian entry for the International level competition.

The Universal Postal Union shall select the award winning entries. The top three entries will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal respectively along with certificate and album of UPU official postage stamps from UPU

Each entry must have the following details on its first page in respect of the candidates.
1. Candidates passport size photograph
2. Candidate's name
3. Date of Birth
4. Male/Female
5. Father's/Guardian's Name
6. Name of the School/Institution

CBSE Expression Series on 'Subramania Bharati: The Poet Patriot'

CBSE  announced one day Expression Series on ‘Subramania Bharati: the poet and patriot ’on 11th December , 2014. Subramania Bharati was a firm believer in the philosophy that all beings are one and the same, and in unity with God – therefore, they are all equal. Bharati, while fighting for India’s freedom from British rule, simultaneously worked towards eradicating social problems such as religious and caste differences, superstitions, inequality between men and women, ignorance, and poverty.

This Expression series is open to all schools affiliated to CBSE or any recognised state board across the country. Students in three categories , namely i) Classes I-V, ii)Classes VI-VIII and iii)Classes IX-XII can submit their self –composed poems through the following modes :i) Online ii)Offline (links will be provided on 10th December 2014 on cbseacademic.in) iii)Whatsapp (see Annexure I). Topics shall be announced one day in advance.Entries can be submitted on 11th December 2014 from 9.00am to 5.30pm. in English and in 22 scheduled languages. 36 best entries will be rewarded with a cash prize of 2500/-. All participants with valid email ids will be given participation certificates.
In case an entry is found to be plagiarised at any stage, the entry will be disqualified. There will be a telephonic/ face-to-face interaction with the prospective winners to ascertain the originality of the entry submitted. Entries not in prescribed format will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be entertained on the selection of best entries.

Process flow for Offline Submission using Mobile Phones
Schools are required to photocopy the response sheet given and distribute among the students interested in participating the series to fill in details.
All participants willing to participate may refer to following instructions:
Participants may submit entries as Poem.
Download the Registration cum Response Sheet and fill in all the fields given in the form. Write your
name and complete school address before you start writing
Ensure that you have filled all the fields given in the form before writing.

Notes:
1. Entries sent through email will not be entertained at all.
2. Entries should not exceed 5MB in any format.
4. The entries should not exceed the word limit as mentioned.
5. The entries/ writings must be original.
6. If at any stage the entries submitted are proven to be plagiarized or are without the registration details,the entry will be disqualified.
7. Plagiarism, if detected at any point of time, will lead to withdrawal of the prize.
8. Students can refer to as many resources as they can avail, however the entries submitted must be in their own language.
9. The decision of panel of experts will be final and no further communication will be entertained on the selected entries.

Bajaj Allianz Junior Talent Hunt!

The Junior Talent Hunt is an online platform for your child to showcase his/her talents. If you think your child has what it takes and his or her talent needs a stage where it can be appreciated and encouraged, then apply now to participate.
Phase 1:

Online Video Uploads under Arts/Science/Social & Sports Categories/Entertainment etc.

Contest Start Date – 21st Nov,2014
Last Date to Send Entries – 15th December, 2014

Phase 2:

Voting starts from – 16th December, 2014 and ends on 21st December, 2014

Phase 3:

Announcement of Winners on - 23rd Dec,2014

Instructions:

Form a team of one parent and one child

Register and participate online at the Facebook page or the microsite. The first round is open for 21 days.
Prepare a 3-5 minute long performance and showcase it at the Bajaj Allianz Junior Talent Hunt 2014
Participation categories could be Arts, Sports, Science, and Social Activity
Click on ‘Submit My Entry’ and fill in your details

Post your image or video in MP4/FLV/WebM via the ‘Upload Video’ option (Max Size: 200MB) or by ‘Pasting the URL of your Youtube Video’.

Once the video is submitted you can view it in the Gallery and can share as well as vote for your favourite entry.
You can submit only one entry of your child. However if you wish to submit entries of different children please use different e-mail IDs.

Only kids of up to 14 years of age can participate in the Junior Talent Hunt.

Winners will be decided based on internal panel of judges and the total number of votes the entry receives.
