PANORAMA - the Multiple Intelligence Challenge

PANORAMA is a free online event that enables students to participate in a global competition from the comforts of their schools or homes. The event has activities that are in line with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Every student has an opportunity to submit their entries in all the eight intelligence areas. All the entries are judged by a pool of experts. The entries are also opened for voting for teachers, students, parents, enthusiasts and experts. This provides students a great opportunity to display their skill to a bigger audience.
MySuperBrain.com has launched PANORAMA - the Multiple Intelligence Challenge 2013 to encourage students to discover and showcase their skills in eight areas:

Go Green in the City Competition for Students

Schneider Electric invites you to its fourth annual Go Green in the City global business case challenge. Enter for a chance to revolutionize energy management and gain unique insight into one of the leading global energy management companies.

The top 12 teams will travel to Paris where they will compete to win a trip around the world and a career opportunity at Schneider Electric*.

Who is Eligible to Compete?

  • Business and engineering* students, aged eighteen (18) years of age or older, pursuing their bachelor’s (at least 2nd year), master’s or MBA degree are eligible to compete.
  • Go Green in the City 2014 is open to 2-member teams with at least 1 female member (note: both members must comply with the degree requirements stated above).
  • Both of the team members must study in the same country for the duration of the competition. They are not, however, required to be from the same university, nor are they required to study the same subject or be in the same year, as long as they are not in their first year of their undergraduate education.
  • Teams from all over the world are welcome to compete.
No exceptions can be made regarding the terms of the eligibility requirements.
English competency is required.
*All branches of engineering and business programs are accepted. Some examples of accepted business and engineering degrees are economics, communication, graphic design, biological engineering, and mathematics.

ModelShop.in, a Science Partner of Edinburgh International Science Festival, invites you to an exciting journey into the world of Experiential Science!
The ModelShop School Science Championship seeks to promote excellence by encouraging students to undertake individual or team Science Experiments.
It fosters intensive observation and experiential skills that improves students' understanding of the value of scientific study and informs their consideration of future careers in these disciplines.

  1. Its India's first offline PRACTICAL Science Challenge with DIY Kit.
  2. It is not an Online Theoretical Problem-Solution-Business challenge like Iken Scientifica or Google Science Fair.

  4. It’s a Kit Based Practical Scientific Enquiry based competition where participants use an experiment kit for a branch of science for following...
    1. Ask a Question which is interesting, creative, scientifically worded, and relevant to today's world.
    2. Test a hypothesis or expected outcome that is tightly focused, follows naturally from the question, and builds on existing knowledge.
    3. Write a Method that demonstrates that they've used good experimental techniques or testing processes, and describe it clearly and in detail.
    4. Run Experiment with the given Science Kit.
    5. Maintain accurate record and present relevant data, results or observations, and describe the patterns or trends these data support.
    6. Conclude with explanation how your experiment answers your original question or problem, and how it supports your hypothesis - or why it fails to do so.
  5. It is run by dedicated Science Partners who work with a team of local science teachers who work as mentors and guide.
  6. Open to students aged 8-15.

 

Who Can Participate?

All Schools that provide quality Science Education can register themselves as partner for this Championship. The Students of these schools can compete as an individual or as a member of a team.

Govt. Schools or Schools run by charitable organizations are most welcome to contact the organisers for FREE entry.

  • All Participants are required to choose 3 categories and pay an Entry Fee to register for the competition.
  • ModelShop will assign a Science Experiment and will provide all the study materials, kits and observation log book to conduct the experiments.
  • Participants will be given three weeks to complete the experiment and submit the observation log book to School.
  • Finalists to the championship will be informed and will be invited to participate in the regional championship.
  • Winners will be selected from the Regional Science Championship for each category and awards will be distributed.

All India Poster/Photography/Video Contest for students and teachers (2013-14)

 Organised by Central Institute of Educational Technology /NCERT, New Delhi
 Purpose
To promote visual communication skill and creative expression among students and teachers.
Eligibility
The contest is OPEN to all students/candidates of ages 12-18 years and teachers from formal, non-formal, private and government schools from all states and union territories of the country.
Themes
The broad themes of the contest suggested:
·         We and Our Environment
·         Wonders: Gift to Humankind
·         Monuments: Our Past
·         Festivals: Celebration of Life
·         Transportation: Life Line

Subthemes
Subthemes are not mention because participants are free to think any subthemes.
Rules and Regulations
The contest is open to all students/children of age groups 12-18 years from formal, non-formal, private and government schools from all states and union territories of the country.

Content of the posters/photographs/video should not be obscene or hurt any religious or social sentiment.

Each student and teacher may send five entries, one on each of the five themes referred above.

For each entry students and teacher should write the theme and the title/caption of the poster/photograph/video clip.

The entries should be sent through the Head of the Institution along with the certificate of bonafide work done by a particular student and teacher in the prescribed format.



Acceptable specification for contest:
• The Photographs may be in color or black & white in 5”x7” or 8”x10”size.
• Digital photographs should be in size of 1024X768 (Pixels) and a print size of 8”x10”
• Video should be in mp4, ogg, mov or wmv digital video format. It should
be more than 2 minutes & less than 7 minutes & not more than 50MB.
• The size of the poster should be 15”X20” or 20”X30” and in at least 150 pixel/inch resolutions.
• Mention the name of the contest on the envelope.
The contestant should write his/her name and complete postal address with e-mail/ fax / phone number on one copy only.
 All the entries will be screened by jury consisting of acclaimed artist, photographers, videographers and educationists.

 Posters/photographs/Video clips submitted to the competition will not be returned. NCERT will be free to use for educational purposes in their electronic or print publications.
The decisions of the judges are final and not subject of arbitration.
In all matters and disputes, the decision of the Joint Director, Central Institute of Educational Technology /NCERT, New Delhi will be final and binding.

Please note:
1. All entries received would be showcased on the CIET website along with the particulars of the participant in the contest.
2. The prize-winning entries will be treated as the copy right of the CIET/NCERT.

ALL INDIA POETRY COMPETITION 2014

ORGANISER

The Competition is organised by The Poetry Society (India).

COMPETITORS

1.                  The Competition is open to resident and non-resident Indian poets and translators.

2.                  Members of the Governing Board and the Executive Committee of The Poetry
            Society (India) and the first prize-winners of previous All-India Poetry
            Competitions are not permitted to enter the Competition.

3.                  No Competitor may win more than one prize.

ADJUDICATION AND PRIZED

4.                  The Poems entered for the Competition will be read by a panel of eminent Indian poets who will select the prize-winning poems.

5.                  The decision of the judges will be final and The Poetry Society (India) will not enter into any correspondence about the results.

6.                  There will be seven prizes awarded in all.

7.                  The first prize will be Rs. 10,000/-

8.                  The second prize will be Rs. 5,000/-

9.                  Five commendation prizes of Rs. 1,000/- for the best poems in translation will be given.

10.              A list of prize-winners and the prize-winning poems will be uploaded on  www.indianpoetry.org

ENTRY

1.                  The following procedure be followed for sending the entries:

    1. A copy of each poem  be sent through e-mail at  hkkaul@gmail.com

b.   Another copy of the same poem/s be sent in print/typed form through mail/courier along with the entry fee and cost of anthology.

2.                  Each entry must be either a poem written in English by the competitor or his/her translation into English of a poem by any poet in any of the recognized Indian languages.

3.                  There will be an entry fee of Rs. 200 per poem. Competitors may submit as many poems as they wish to submit.

4.                  In case of submission of  translated version of  copyrighted poems in English,  before submitting the poems, the translators should have obtained permission from the poets for the use of their poems for the Competition. Scanned copy/copies of the permission/s should be sent along with the entry/entries by e-mail and original copy/copies by post to The Poetry Society (India).   

5.                  Each poem must be the unaided work of the author or translator and it must not have been previously published or broadcast.

6.                  If it has been found that the competitor has copied in full or part a poem of another poet or downloaded in full or part a poem of another poet from the Internet, and submitted as an entry to the All India Poetry Competition 2014, suitable/legal action can be taken against the competitor.

7.                  The maximum length of a poem should be about 40 lines.

8.                  Competitors may submit as many poems as they wish provided that each poem is accompanied by an entry fee or Rs. 200/- per poem.

9.                  The entry fee must be paid by a Demand Draft drawn on any bank in India and made payable to The Poetry Society (India) at New Delhi. Payments sent by outstation cheques, cash or money order will not be accepted. The payments should be sent to The Secretary, The Poetry Society (India), L-67A, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi-110017. The Demand Draft should be sent along with the Entry Form duly filled in and copies of poems sent by e-mail. Please make one DD for entry-fee payments to be made for all poems submitted and the cost of the anthology.

10.              Entries will be judged without the panel of judges knowing the identity of the competitors. Name of the poet should not be added to the text of the poem. The Poetry Society (India) will allot an identification number to each poem which has been received as an entry for the competition.

11.              Receipt of an entry will be acknowledged by e-mail after the receipt of DD, Entry Form and poems by courier/post.

12.              The worldwide copyright of each prize-winning or shortlisted poem, and of any other poem selected by the judges for special commendation will remain with the author, but The Poetry Society (India) shall have the unrestricted right to present the poem on television, radio or the stage, or to publish it at the time of the prize-giving, or at any time up to twelve months afterwards.

13.              All competitors shall be deemed to have read and accepted all the conditions of entry for the All-India Poetry Competition 2014 at the time of submission.
