shOObh Arts Competition-2013

Theme - WATER
Water is beautiful & we want people to love water, because when you adore something you tend to take care of it more.

NO PARTICIPATION FEE

CLOSING DATE – 14th November, 2013

Eligibility Criteria:
Participants must be between 5 – 17 years of age.
Participants must be bona fide students of the school they participate through.
The competition is open to all school children.
Participant could also be a foreign national.
Guidelines for Entries:
School can submit the best drawing/painting in categories mentioned below:
Group Classification
A Nursery - Upper KG
B Standard 1st – 3rd
C Standard 4th – 7th
D Standard 8th – 10th
E Standard 11th – 12th
F Over 18 years
Format of the entry: Paper (Any size)
Participants are free to use a drawing medium of their choice (pencil, colors, pastels, crayons, ink, etc.).
Each entry should be original, entirely done individually & should not have been previously submitted to any other competition or exhibited in any other forum.
Drawing may have a caption, but should the caption not exceed 2 lines & must be written in English/ Hindi.
The entries should not be mounted or framed.
The entry form (attached) should be filled up & completed in Hindi/English, or be accompanied by a translation in Hindi/English.
A maximum of two entries per category per school shall be entertained. Any entries beyond the specified limit shall be disqualified.
PASTE THE FORM at the back of the painting sheet, complete the form in your own hand writing along with signature of the Principal/ authorized signatory of the school with school stamp when submitting the painting.
All entrants not complying with the rules will be disqualified. The organizer’s decision shall be final & binding.
The organizers shall not be responsible for any loss/damage of an entry during transit.

Adjudication: The submissions will be judged on the basis of Originality & creativity.
Relevance to the competition theme.
The competition is open to all school children.

IMP: By entering this competition entrants will be deemed to have read these rules & agree to be bound by them. Organizer reserves the right to vary, cancel or modify the competition or it’s T & C in whole or part at any time.

Selection processes: The Jury shall select the Three most outstanding drawings/paintings submitted for each above mentioned group.

‘SAVE WATER – SECURE THE FUTURE’ - Painting Competition for Students

The Painting Competition is being organized under the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) Scheme of Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India and is aimed at creating awareness among school children on the importance of conservation & efficient use of water.

Who can Participate
The competition is open to school students of Classes 6, 7 & 8.
Winners of 1st, 2nd 3rd prizes in State / National Level competitions organized by CGWB during the last 3 years are not eligible to participate in the competition. Though winners of consolation prizes in the above mentioned competitions are eligible to participate, their paintings shall be considered only for 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize in the State/National Level Competitions as the case may be.

Theme
The theme for the school level painting competition (2013-14) is ‘SAVE WATER – SECURE THE FUTURE’

The painting competition will be held in three stages, as described below:

School level competitions shall be organized by the school authorities, ensuring participation of all/maximum number of students in classes 6, 7 & 8. Papers of A4 Size or larger may be used for the painting. There is no restriction on the use of any medium (Crayons, Water Color etc.).
 The three best (or prize-winning) paintings  selected by the school authorities from Kerala Region, along with details of  the number of participants in the competition are to be sent to the Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Kerala Region, KEDARAM, Kesavadasapuram, Thiruvanathapuram – 695 004 latest by 20.10.2013.
Details such as name of the student, Class, age, Father’s/Mother’s Name, contact telephone number(s), Name, address and contact details of the school are to be written clearly on the back of the prize-winning entries being sent, together with the signature of the Head Master /Principal and School seal. Paintings received without the signature of the Head Master/Principal and School seal or sent directly by the students/parents will not be accepted. The details may be sent along with the pro-forma enclosed, duly filled.
Participation certificates shall be given to all students participating in the school level competition.

The paintings received from the school level competitions shall be evaluated by an expert committee for selection of the best 50 entries.

The best 50 entries selected from the school level competition will qualify for the State Level Painting Competition, proposed to be held at Thiruvananthapuram on 18.11.2013 (for Kerala Region)

Theme for the State Level Painting Competition will be disclosed at the venue.

The best three entries in the State Level Competitions shall be given cash awards and certificates.

Consolation prizes shall be given to the next 10 best entries and participation certificates to all 50 students participating in the competition.

The best 3 entries selected from the State Level Competition will also qualify for the National Level Painting Competition to be held in New Delhi on 27.12.2013. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners of the national contest.

Details of the competition & prizes to be awarded for the State / National level painting competitions shall be published in leading national dailies shortly.
